    Exploring Mimosa National Park

    November 20, 2017 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 20 °C

We went along a dodgy dirt road and found a cute little echidna along the way. Max and all the kids jumped out a gave it a pat.
We found a beautiful little lagoon after walking through a stack of mozzies and Max ate his first oyster ( a wild one off the rock, dingo ate about 8) - Mav put one in his mouth but spat it out pretty quick! Saw a red bellied black snake on the way home - arrggg! Dingo warned us there's a lot of brown snakes about too but so far thank goddess we haven't run into one!
Last night here, it's so lovely I could stay longer. $30 a night with no water and fly invested pit toilets will make it easier to leave. Ticks are around too, Mav pulled one off his arm and we've had one crawling in our bed - there's a warning sign about them. The wallabies are covered in them ( we have Wayne - our pet wallaby - constantly hanging around waiting for a crust).
Went into Tathra today and enjoyed hot chips for lunch and the boys got naked and went for an ocean swim.
Have had no reception so I'm not sure when this will load! Missing everyone xx

    Gillards Beach

    November 18, 2017 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 22 °C

So much wildlife here, camped right next to the beach in Mimosa national park - we will need to pack away our bin during the night as there's Wombats about too. No electricity or phone service for the next 3 days.
The wallaby the kids were feeding just tipped our bin over and grabbed a banana skin to munch on. Max is pulling tics off its ears and it won't leave Max alone nowRead more

    Cowdroys Beach

    March 12, 2018 in Australia ⋅ ☁️ 22 °C

An epic 4WD track most of the way in with a walk down the closed part of the track. I don't think we would easily get up this with our vehicle anyway.

Once down there is a silted beach beside the river outlet. A view of the ocean but not way to get there and be dry.

    Gillard Beach

    March 12, 2018 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 21 °C

We took the dirt road in here and we're rewarded with a nice beach. The sand is quite yellow and is squeaky sand. When you walk on the dry sand it makes quite a loud noise. At the northern end is some pretty interesting rocks. The beach rolls of quite steeply and the waves look quite strong and treacherous. There are numerous warnings about swimming here.Read more
