So after spending 61 days in South Australia it's time to leave. Still heading east we pass through Victoria (spent a total of 2 hours there 😷) and into NSW at Mildura. The countryside is very productive around here as we passed through the Riverland and Sunraysia districts.
Another Murray River camp this time near Monak. Big days for us when we travel around 300km. It does get tiring.Read more

Even more people and boats around today. If this is what it's like on a weekend I can't imagine what Easter will be like. Hopefully I'll be well clear of civilisation by then.
20 or 30 kms upstream from a weir (eg Mildura), the current drops away to nothing and the river level builds up 2 or 3 metres from its original level because it’s dammed up by the weir. This means all the nice sandy beaches are underwater so good camp sites are hard to find. Tonight's definitely not good. Mildura tomorrow. Phew!

Traveler Yes good timing to get to Mildura before Easter I would think. Lucky (not really luck!) you are 4 days ahead of schedule. Stefanos has a nice casual restaurant you might want to try. You are going so well! Dave Hicks is really enjoying your blog too.

Red Cliffs

Well you never guess what I discovered, Red Cliffs actually has red cliffs. I know you're thinking, Drrrr. Well I never knew. We have been to Mildura several times and I didn't know this piece of information. My excuse is that we came when it was hot and who wants to go exploring, unless there's a cold drink and an air conditioner or swimming pool. So today we went and discovered the red cliffs, well, not so red. Maybe the light was wrong.Read more
