    Perth - Geraldton / 430km

    May 7, 2019 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 22 °C

Today we left Perth after getting our Landcruiser. The next 20 days we will drive more than 3‘000 km north and end up in the Kimberly Nationalpark north east of Broome.
Part of that route (until Exmouth) we did 20 years ago. Still remember enough to be sure its worth it a second time. So much to see in between! Pinnacles, Kalbarri, Ningaloo and many more National parks 🏞.. Today we aleeady visited the Pinnacles Nationalpark. Wonderful! Can‘t wait for Monkey Mia, Corall bay and Ningaloo...Read more

    February 4, 2020 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 27 °C

Read more

    Big boattrip 1

    June 27, 2017 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 18 °C

Cruising along the Westcoast with a 23 meter long boat for three weeks is like a dream coming true. In return for some hours of working (cleaning and cooking) on the boat we can enjoy everything what the Abrolhos islands have to offer. After three days of preparing the boat in Perth we are ready to set sail to Geraldton where we do our shopping and final preparations. This ride was already an adventure as we had to sail for 24 hours through rough see while half of the crew was getting seesick. Fortunately we got to see some whales in return. With 12 people on board we could set of to the first island called 'peninsula' island. We anker safely in the bay where we are protected from wind and waves.Read more

    August 21, 2017 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 18 °C

Not much to see here really...a very industrial town, and the biggest town we've visited so far in WA. We restocked groceries, gas bottles, fuel etc then checked out a few sights.

The Geraldton HMAS Sydney Memorial was great. We had a guided tour which was really helpful in understanding the history involved in the WW2 disaster that claimed 645 lives.

Also visited the Geraldton Museum and were lucky enough to visit the Point Moore lighthouse which is only open to the public one day a year, and we fluked it!

    Temperature 7-20°
