Nachdem Elton Jon hier seine EuropaTournee startete, haben wir an diesem BIG auch halt gemacht. Liegt auch direkt an der A1, mit abenteuerlicher Abfahrt von der Autobahn. Es gibt leider nicht viel zu sehen, und mit einem Bähnchen durch die Plantage zu fahren, fanden wir albern..Dafür haben wir bei WOOLWORTHS heute 2 Überraschungen gehabt:
- wir lernten die Bananensorte LADY FINGER kennen
- wir haben in Australia die ersten leeren Toilettenpapier-Regale gesehen. Die Realität halt uns eingeholt!Read more

Ok I am starting covering Pacific Highway from Coffs Harbour to the border with Queensland. And of course not a better way to begin that with arguably the most popular of the big things, the Iconic Big Banana in Coffs Harbour.

Located 3 1/2 hours from Gold Coast it is one the first sights when entering Coffs Harbour. The place is a theme park that included 3 main attractions: Tobogganing, Ice Skating and a water park (which was closed at the time of our visit). Tobogganing was lots of fun and we also tried Ice Skating with not luck due to our lack of experience.

Inside of the "Big Banana" there was a display of other Iconic big things, that was really the trigger for me to start searching for more of them.Read more

We hit our first BIG Australian icon today and we had our first travelling birthday.

Breakfast at the Big Banana was yummy, followed by a toboggan ride for the kids, what a way to celebrate Lyla’s 3rd birthday.

Katrina did a great job whipping up a pink unicorn cake as requested by Lyla, at our lunch park stop.Read more

Checked out and now for breakfast before hiting the road again. Opal Cove is very pretty and a great location a shame about the actual Hotel. Finally on our way. The ladies in the shopping centre love to chat and we are now about 40 min behind our schedule.Read more
