      Zurück am Meer

      January 30, 2020 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 31 °C

      Mt Gambier

      February 12, 2021 in Australia ⋅ 19 °C

Last time we were in Mt Gambier Lachlan was sick with a stomach bug, so we only did a flying visit.

We were not planning to come to Mt Gambier as we had been before, but Kat and Shaun had not been. I am so glad we decided to come. There is so much to do and see here, it is such a beautiful little town.

After exploring the main sights on Wednesday the Umperston’s Sink Hole, Blue Lake and Little Blue Lake we discovered some more things to do.

Brett desperately needed some new clothes, so we went into town on Thursday. It was extremely painful (as shopping with Brett always is). The kids were very well behaved and got themselves some new DVDs. While we were there we popped into a camping shop with a very friendly and helpful owner who gave us a hot fishing tip, so we knew where we were heading tonight.

In the middle of town we found another sink hole/cave. Then we went to the Arts Centre and watched a movie ‘The Volcano’ on how the craters of Mt Gambier were made. Lachlan was very interested in the movie, and both boys learnt a lot about the history of Mt Gambier.

We headed put to the hot fishing/ camping spot and it was a winner ( no fish) but a beautiful spot on the beach. There were some locals camped next to us who gave the boys some fishing tips (still no luck), they also hooked us up with an awesome crayfish they had caught.

It was fantastic to catch up with my friend Cassie from work who is also traveling Australia. I think we will be seeing more of each other as we have very similar travel plans.

8 Mile Creek - Mt Gambier

      February 13, 2021 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 19 °C

We have fish! Bagged out on snapper. I guess the fishing tip was a good one!

Excitement all round today with the opening of the new drone we ordered earlier in the week.
