Had a huge thunder & lightening storm last night. Left Peak Hill at 7-40 am. Very dry along the way .Pulled into a town called YASS for a night stop, a lot cooler here at 33 degrees lol. 330 klms done today, tomorrow we should reach our destination once we’ve past through Canberra ,Cooma then to Lake Eucumbene, about anther 240 klms.Read more

We decided to stop at a free camp at Yass so we only had a short drive in to Canberra and could make the most of our first day there. The camp at Yass was so good we ended up staying 2 nights. We had prime position on the river with our own resident duck who Marg hand fed...he even slept under our van.

Did a bit of shopping in town, washed the car and
van and generally got ourselves organised for our stay in Canberra.

Headed off to Yass, we were going to stay at Canberra but booked out due to School Holidays and Floriade. Stopped at Boorowa and had a look at the information Centre in the old Court House, after coffee continued on to Yass. After Lunch booked into the Caravan Park for three nights Due to bookings we will have to move the van to a different site each day.Read more

Yass Day 2 and 3

Day 2: After moving van to new site we down the street to a local bakery that bakes only GF on a Thursday. Judy was able to buy some GF bread etc. After Lunch we drove into Canberra and visited the War Memorial, was very crowded. Judy was able to find a bit more information on Fred Huxley.

Day 3: Once again started the day by moving van onto a new site. After lunch we went back into Canberra and met up with Ann and Allan Smith. Chatted for a while and Allan took us into Floriade. We walked around displays featuring lots of tulips. Inour opinion Toowoomba festival was better. Went back to Anne's for a while before returning to YassRead more
