    Wang power station

    April 24 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 20 °C

Wallerawang is in the midst of quite a few coal mines. Some are still producing coal but rather than a conveyor ride to the power station, it makes its way to a coal loading fa ility and heads off to local markets

Camping in this area was alongside the lake, Lake Wallace, purpose built for cooling water for the power station. Water comes from nearby to fill the lake as needed.

Today the only use made of the lake is recreational. Campers are allowed to spend two days here enjoying the beautiful surrounds.

Birds are abundant and vary vastly from season to season. Ducks though are here all the year round.

Up to Orange and on to Bathurst

    May 23 in Australia ⋅ ☀️ 18 °C

Made my way to Orange to pick up a parcel from WA. Then on to Bathurst to race around mount Panorama!!!! I am not sure about the time trials but as you can see I got pole position. The rest is on video and wow I think I did real good !!! The country between Orange and Bathurst really changed from generally flat to quite hilly and I didn’t think we were climbing but the truck was down in her gears and when I looked at the alter meter we were climbing quite fast, very different for Australia!!! The top of my panorama is 900m. Will head up to Brisbane along the great dividing range if I can stand the cold. I getting old you know!!!Read more

    Up the great divide

    May 24 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 19 °C

Stayed a night here after my day racing around my panorama. Now I headed into the great dividing range and zigzag my way north. Where I started in the divide is called the blue mountains. The drive all the way to Qld was unbelievable!! From steep hills to open farm land and meandering along really tight water coarses. Every day has got colder and most nights below zero so only one night in each place and a promise to my self I am heading north!!! Well I am in Qld now at a place called Allora, just south of Ipswich. I think I am still going to have to head north yet!! I have a few things to get done in Brisbane but will be looking for a nice warm beach up north and go fishing 🎣.Read more
