    Wildlife of Canada

    July 11, 2019 in Canada ⋅ ⛅ 22 °C

Das scheue Caribou und der nicht ganz ungefährliche Schwarzbär, heute trafen wir sie endlich, und auch noch beide innerhalb kürzester Zeit!!
Klar, im Zoo. In freier Wildbahn eher kaum möglich.
Wenki flippte beim Anblick von Schafen, Ziegen und Kaninchen fast aus. Ich glaube, sie muss aufs Land ziehen.

    Magnetic Hill

    July 31, 2019 in Canada ⋅ ⛅ 30 °C

Magnetic Him is a place I remember hearing about when I was a kid. It was a place that your car rolled up hill. Sounds like a tourist trap and it is but in a Canadian way. It wasn't too much to pay for the experience and it was pretty cool. The explanation is that the tree line confuses you about where the horizon is and makes you think you are going uphill when really you are going downhill. In theory this makes sense but when you are there it is mind boggling.Read more

    Day 11

    June 20, 2019 in Canada ⋅ 🌧 18 °C

Made it from Rivière du Loupe QC to Moncton NB. Rained most of the way. Low cloud ceiling spoiled any view of countryside. Good trip on excellent highway. Watched semi truck burn to ground on side of highway with fuel fire. Stayed in old motel, but clean. Had excellent meal in hotel restaurant. Chef served all across Canada in hotels both CN & CP. Vancouver Harbour front hotel to Queen Elizabeth in Montreal.

Interesting urinals in mens restaurant wasroom! What it comes out of...it goes back in!

    Enough to make you

    June 27, 2016 in Canada ⋅ 🌬 23 °C

Un freaking believable. At the last gas station I emptied my gas cans because I won't need them any more. And then... one exit short! No freaking way! WTF. The bike ran out after going less than 100 miles where it's normally 120. I sure hope it was just because of the area I just went through.

On Google maps the area around this city is colored green for many miles. What I drove through was a huge plain at the end of the Bay of Fundy. And the wind gusts were unreal. I had to slow down from 110 kph (70) to like 80 kph (55) because I was worried about keeping the bike in my lane. The gusts were so intense I couldn't keep my head looking forward. Interestingly it didn't affect the bike nearly as much. I just played it up so I'd get the attention of cars coming up on me (their speed was 50% faster than me.)

This town has an airport and a casino.
