    Funny little place

    September 21 in Croatia

So moved to otherside of town and have a room with a view and a garden to sit in. Nice people, only 3 rooms but only 3 blocks from bus and sea. Too bad it is all stairs to bus but will figure that out on Tuesday when i head back to Split.
Today I went grocery shopping at farmers market and bakery. I arranged to go on a 3 island kayaking adventure tomorrow. So early nightRead more

Walked back down to old town for lunch of risotto with beets, apple and walnuts very nice. Back on bus to my part of town bought a snack and beer for dinner. Will try island of Milje national park if weather holds for tomorrow
Pictures are firstvthe climb and crowds to getvto top of city walls, every alley is used for restaurants , a crazy candy store, play ground in the dry moat, views from top of gondola.

    Leaving Dubrovnik

    September 6 in Croatia

    Dubrovnik, Croatia

    July 20, 2017 in Croatia

Dubrovnik is one of my favorite places but to be honest most of the places we've been I've absolutely loved! The Old Town is so medieval, full of terra-cotta roofs, narrow alleyways, multilevel building surrounded by a Great Wall. There are heaps of tourists but it doesn't feel as busy as Santorini, probably because it's a little more spread out. The pavements are really slippery due to being polished by the thousands of tourists that walk on them every year so maneuvering the town can be a little dangerous! Of course Dubrovnik is famous for The Game Of Thrones so we went on a film set tour which was super cool. We visited Blackwater Bay, The Red Keep, the walk of shame path, the city of Qarth, and the main scenes of Kings Landing. We also adventured to Buza Bar - a bar on the outside of the wall along the water - where we swam all day off the rocks and did some cliff jumping. I only jumped off a baby rock (which still felt like it was massive) but these guys were jumping off twice as high as me, it was great entertainment!! After five hours in the water, we decided to walk the city walls of Old Town. You can get a panoramic view of Dubrovnik from up here as well as visit all of the fortresses around the wall. It's a really awesome experience because there's no other place quite like it! We are leaving Dubrovnik today for Split on board a Medsailors yacht which is going to be so much fun!Read more
