      J44 - Repos croate 🇭🇷

      La trace de cette journée est offerte en 1ere photo ! On vous laisse donner en commentaire celui qui a le plus beau bronzage agricole : Léo ou Rémi ? 🌾 🚜

      On a roulé le matin sur le bout de la magnifique île de Pag avec ses paysages minéraux. En queue de peloton, le Grupetto a eu droit à de la musique pour d’ambiancer ! 🕺 🪩

      À midi, on a bu du pipi (preuve en photo) et on a retrouvé Dimitiri au camping de Zadar l’après-midi ! Douche pour les cyclistes, mise en place du campement, et ce soir on va faire un tour en ville avec Côme et Hipo 😊

      Demain on répond à nos mails, on prépare l’intervention d’Athènes, on nettoie les vélos, on va chez le coiffeur et on fait des lessives.

      On profitera aussi du soleil, de la piscine et du camping ! 😊 🏕️ ☀️ 🏊‍♂️

      Zadar

      April 19 in Croatia ⋅ 🌬 16 °C

      Nach Slowenien kommt Kroatien. Autobahnen leer und ziemlich gut in Schuss. Was will man mehr?! Kurz vor Zadar durchqueren wir per Tunnel ein Gebirge, das wir zwar nicht kennen, aber das trotzdem da ist, noch dazu im geologischen Stil, wie man ihn aus Winnetou-Filmen kennt. Eben weil die in dieser Gegend gedreht wurden.
      ZADAR liegt in einer großen Bucht und der Campingplatz (5 Sterne Premium, gestaltet in 2019) nur etwa drei Kilometer von der Altstadt entfernt. Mit der relativ zügig downgeloadeten Acsi-Card kostet er akzeptable 27€ die Nacht - statt ohne Karte 52€! Der Campingplatz ist nahezu perfekt, fast zu perfekt... aber vielleicht entspricht er ja einer EU-Norm?! Glücklicherweise ist das Wetter hier ziemlich prächtig, obgleich die Temperaturen noch frühlinghaft frisch sind - auch zurzeit hier im Süden. In Bayern hat es gerade geschneit!!! Heute Vormittag nach einem Morgenläufchen sind wir in die Altstadt geradelt - alles Fußgängerzone! Sehr eindrucksvoll waren die Meeresorgel von Zadar, die eine Art Walgesänge produziert (höre 2. Video), eine begehbarer PhotoVoltaik-Kreis mit etwa 20 Meter Durchmesser, der Strom für eine abendliche Lichtinstallation liefert, sowie zwei Musiker an einem zentralen Platz, die einfach wunderbar gespielt haben - haben wir schon erzählt, dass wir Livemusik lieben?!?
      Jetzt gegen Abend scheint zwar immer noch die Sonne, aber der kühle Wind lässt uns Zuflucht im kuschelig warmen WoMo suchen.

      Gutes Essen im Groppo.

      Leicht verwirrt da wir durch eine Seitengasse in die Stadt gekommen sind. Dann aber wieder leicht gefunden, danke Manuel mir gestern den Link geschickt hat. Wieder hatten wir super gegessen und die Kellner waren mega. Das Essen wie beim letzten Mal ein Traum 😘Read more

      Wassermusik

      Händels Wassermusik. Schuberts Forelle. Die Moldau. Die Schleierschwänze im Karneval der Tiere. Fanta 4s Tag am Meer.
      Wenn man einen Augenblick darüber nachdenkt: Wasser spielt in der Musik ziemlich oft eine Rolle. Was käme dabei heraus, wenn Wasser selbst Musik machte?
      Diese Frage beantwortet die „Meeresorgel“ in Zadar. Wellen und Wind bringen mittels einer architektonischen Installation Zufallstöne hervor. Manchmal klingt es dumpf und tief, wie Holzpfeifen einer Orgel. Manchmal hört es sich an wie Xylophon. Manchmal erinnert es an minimal music von Steve Reich. Ein wirklich schönes Klangerlebnis.
      Eine kreisrunde Solarinstallation gibt es auch, aber die leuchtet nur abends. Das schauen wir uns das nächste Mal an, wenn wir wieder in Zadar sind. Denn Eure Camper sind heute müde und müssen sich nun im Bulli einrollen.      Read more

      Musik in der Luft

      Das erste mal nicht alleine Frühstücken seit langem. Adrien macht sogar Kaffee.
      Wir fahren den ersten Drittel einen abgelegen Pfad entlang der wegen Abrutschungen geschlossen ist. Endlich Ruhe von den Autos.
      Der zweite Drittel verläuft flach bis zur Brücke die uns aufs Festland bringt. Zum Schluss zog es sich über Hügel bis Zadar.
      Zur Belohnung gabs Einen Bananasplit und deie Meeresorgel.      Read more

      Plitvitce Lakes National Park

      Along with beautiful waterfalls at this Croatian National Park, one of the remarkable things is this aquamarine water that results from a high mineral content. People in the past would swim here but no more. On a warm 70degree day this made for a thrilling and inspirational hike plus Dave and Betsy were happy with the cool birds they saw.Read more

      Waterfalls and Aquamarine Lakes

      We left Zagreb under mostly cloudy skies with the threat of rain as we drove to Plitvice National Park. A UNESCO World Natural Heritage site, Croatia’s most popular park lived up to its reputation as a beautiful and heavily visited park. Often referred to as one of Europe’s most beautiful parks, the park’s colorful waters - blue, green, aquamarine, turquoise - and the many waterfalls are what bring most visitors to the park. The waters’ changing colors is attributed to the concentration of dissolved organic matter, the concentration of various organisms in water, lake depth, the environment of the lake, weather conditions, the play of light and shadows and the surface water movement. We were pleased that the rain held off until the very tail end of our hike. Adding to our experience were two new birds to me - a Great Tit, which we got a very good look at a couple of them eating some sort of chokecherry- looking fruit (the more colorful bird in the photos), and I heard, but did not see, a Eurasian blackcap. Both photos are from eBird. Tonight we are in Zadar, a city on the Adriatic coast. Tomorrow, we explore Zadar. But first, we sleep.Read more

      Zagreb The Ancient Walled City

      We walked from the sobe where we are lodging to the old town that is like something from an Instagram post. The stone city is an architectural marvel. It has winding roads (and a touristy feel) but underneath it all it makes you consider that so much happened here you can’t even begin to imagine! I saw a maintenance man with a handmade broom, many tourists and I heard noone speaking English. The shop keepers here speak a little. Prices even here for food is very reasonable.Read more

      The Sea Organ

      Sea Organ

      Zadar is a proud owner of a unique blend of architecture and music, the world-famous Sea Organ, which is located right next to another modern installation, the Greeting to the Sun. The sounds that the Sea Organ produces are a result of the release of sea energy, or rather waves and tides.

      The Sea Organ was broken off and then gently shaped and returned to the sea. It stretches out over about seventy metres of the Zadar waterfront, below which, at the level of the lowest low tide, 35 pipes of various lengths, diameters and slopes have been installed. I love the sounds coming from it and with the moon illuminated, it was spectacular. I wish I was there with a group of quiet people doing shavassana however but it was a ok otherwise.      Read more

      Meet Djana and a Zadar Neighborhood

      I hope you’ve seen the Hulu movie “the last tourist” . It encourages green tourism as does Rick Steves. We had the great bounty to stay with this woman who has built a beautiful home with very nice accommodations. She had the small house outside her house as an extra space for her family - which she gave us a tour of. Her neighbor gave us oranges when I smiled at her in the street. I will remember this woman Dyana who works very hard with her business . It’s a different experience than just staying at chain hotels and because of that you get memory making moments like these.Read more
