    Leaving Germany behind us

    September 9, 2017 in Czech Republic ⋅ ⛅ 18 °C

We crossed our first border - what a strange feeling to know that we won't put any foot on German ground in the next months!
Due to our host in Dresden, we fell in love with Warmshowers on the first occasion. Many thanks to Marcus, we're super grateful. Thanks again for showing us around, for the dinners, and the rich conversations.
Behind Dresden, the mountains of Saxon Switzerland pushed us to our limits, but the descents were absolutely breathtaking (we've never rode a bike with almost 60km/h before).
Tomas from Usti nad Labem, you made our first night in Czechia very comfortable. We'll keep our fingers crossed that you'll cycle to China one day.
Now we're on a camping spot just before Prague where we enjoy Saturday evening with the Czechs, live music and a few beers.

    Prague (final day)

    April 20, 2018 in Czech Republic ⋅ ⛅ 17 °C

Stayed longer than expected but the food people entertainment and weather has been amazing, 27degrees today out cycling a bit too long now a bit too red! The river has a man made Weir so that kayakers can get some practice on the rapids, funny to see them with all their gear on in this weather, come and have a go on the Tummel in October if you think you're hard enough! Couple of pics of Prague by night including the tower I was up the other day, couple of the zoo, one of the best I've been to.I have never understood why bars give you a large glass then only fill it 2 thirds, try that in Scotland and see how far you get! The final pic is my picnic table masquerading as a clothes horse.Read more

The pics look amazing except for the last one! Lol! Ixxx

Looks great. Have you danced at all? Your floor space is still empty in class despite 3 new folk. Didn’t feel like you’ve been away very long but it must be as we have 7 new routine. Is van holding out well?

Been too hot to go dancing, did a wee impromptu class outside at the site in Prague, which the Dutch folk seemed to enjoy, horrified at how much I have forgotten. Will look for a local class when it is a bit cooler. Van holding out well, didn't have any facilities for first six nights, so it did me well.

    Endlich in Prag

    "I cook you some eggs"

    September 18, 2015 in Czech Republic ⋅ ⛅ 18 °C

Today we went to the Pilsner brewery. Learnt how they brew beer and tried some of it before the bottle process. The photo of Nick is waiting for the tour to begin. Then we had a tour of the underground walkway system. apparently the people were smaller back then because nick couldn't stand up 99% of the way!

Then drove to Prague and set up camp. The GPS took us right through the middle of the city at 5pm so we were delayed an hour, so after we finished pitching it was 8pm. We set off to find dinner but decided the walk wasn't worth it and to try and find hot water for our 2min noodles. In the time that nick had gone our neighbour came over and insisted that he would cook us some eggs and bacon. It was an interesting evening, Alfred was from Holland and an Anthropologist. We discussed hunter/gatherer societies still left in the world over eggs and bacon on kruskit things with tea.

    Prague. Križižikova fontana. Day 3
