Kittilä

Auf meiner Fahrt durchs Lappland standen in Kittilä die Feuerwehrfahrzeuge auf dem Hauptplatz. Ich nutzte die Chance und sprach mit einem anwesenden Feuerwehrmann. Die Feuerwehr ist für ihr gesamtes Gemeindegebiet verantwortlich, was 8’094 km² Landfläche entspricht. Zum Vergleich, der Kanton Luzern hat eine Gesamtfläche von 1493 km². Im Winter werden auch Rettungen von Skifahrer, mittels Schneemobil oder UTV’s gemacht. Er lud mich auch zu einem kurzen Rundgang durch seine Feuerwache ein. Es stellte sich heraus, dass die Feuerwache über eine eigene Sauna verfügt, welche immer läuft! Die Antwort ist simpel, nach eine Einsatz möchte man sich reinigen, da reicht duschen bei den Finnen nicht.
