    Touvre aire

    April 26 in France

The morning was taken up with driving on a mixture of country roads and motorways. Thankfully there were a lot fewer roundabouts than yesterday! We stopped in a town centre car park with van services but were disappointed to find that none of the bays was big enough for us to park in. We didn't feel comfortable settling in for the night whilst taking up 4 spaces and the fact there was nowhere for Poppy to easily go to the toilet made up our minds to move on after lunch. Will picked up a baguette and a couple of cream tarts from a nearby boulangerie (delicious but so much more expensive than in Spain) and after we'd lunched, we set off towards Touvre aire, 20km away.

To our delight it turned out to be a beautiful 6 place, dedicated, edge of town aire with large gravel bays divided by hedges or grass. Being France, we had no qualms about getting out the table, chairs, awning and drying. Sitting with Poppy in the intermittent but warm sunshine while Will played guitar and Vicky blogged, made for a very enjoyable afternoon!

    Remy Martin, Cognac

    May 2 in France

Spent the afternoon in Cognac to visit the Remy Martin Maison. The city has a young, hip and chic feeling. Although I didn't think that I was a fan of Cognac, I went to learn and taste for myself. Visited the perfectly kept grounds, cellars and distillery. There were three tastings all paired with a lovely little bites of goat cheese, duck pate and chocolate cake.

    La Rochefoucauld

    October 26 in France

    Vendredi, 26 octobre 2018
Read more

    Lazy day :)

    October 9, 2017 in France

Stéphane has been busy today helping his parents with the gardening and fixing gates while I sat back and relaxed on the terrace!

French mumma and I went for a “petite promenade” around the nearby countryside which was “tres belle”! Got introduced to two very cute donkeys.

I cooked a vegetarian curry for everyone for dinner which went down well! Followed by lots of fromages Français... bliss!

The sunshine welcomed me back to France yesterday! We spent the day with family- drinking “les trois c” (champagne, cointreau, citron) and eating great food.

Today we visit more family - eat more lovely food and walk around the vineyards 💕

Feeling colder tonight so we put the fire on 😊
