Disneyland Day 2

Today we went to Walt Disney Studios, which is the second themepark in the Disneyland complex. It was another day of fun and frivolity.

Our day started a little later than yesterday with everyone needing a bit longer to get started after a midnight finish the day before. We also ended up finishing earlier as the fireworks display was cancelled and the park closed at 9:30pm due to the riots in Paris that are causing disruptions to public transport. However we still eked out as much value of our time as possible, including deferring dinner until we got back to the apartment at 10pm, rather than giving up our chance to be on the rides while the park was still open.

Annabelle continued her thrill seeking ways with a go on a parachute drop ride in the morning, and later in the day also went on the Crusher Coaster.

Tom had a more low-key day compared to Belle, preferring the gentler rides with the Slinky Dog ride and the Flying Carpet being a couple of his faves.

Overall, we have had a great two days here. It has been well worth the visit.Read more

Last day at Disneyland Paris

We had our last day at Disneyland - they have a second park called Walt Disney Studios (similar to California adventure Park in California). They have an avengers section and a Pixar section. There were some very original rides that we’ve never seen in that park which were real fun.

They also did a drone show tonight before the fireworks. I hadn’t seen one of those before, so found it pretty cool

I’m hoping we didn’t wear ourselves out and not have enough energy to now see Paris - just going to have to push through but both of our legs are pretty tired.

Begrüßt wurden wir von Walt und Mickey.

Zum Start ging es mit dem kleinen Chefkoch durch Ratatouille’s Welt. Im Anschluss sind wir dann mit dem Dude Express durch die Nemo Welt getaucht.

Zum Abschluss haben wir die Avengers beim Kampf gegen das Böse unterstützt.Read more

Disneyland / Walt Disney Studios

Here we go again 😇 Heute starten wir mit den Walt Disney Studios. Nach dem Sicherheitscheck passieren wir die Eingangspforten der Studios und dürfen eine Welt voller Avangers und Action erleben. Natürlich sind unsere Jungs und der Papa hin und weg. Sie können ihr Glück kaum fassen, hier zwischen den echten Startrooper, Stormtrooper und den Avangers zu stehen 😃 Die Mädels der Familie steuern in der Zeit, in der die Jungs die actionbeladenen Aktionen erleben, erstmal in die Welt der Toy Story 😁 Wir gönnen uns derweil zwei Ründchen im "Slinky dog" - endlich mal auf dem Rücken eines echten Dackels reiten 😁
Gemeinsam erleben wir noch die Welt von Car, schlendern an Ratatouilles Restaurant vorbei und gönnen uns eine der zahlreichen Shows in den Studios. Wir entscheiden uns für Mickeys Magic. 😃🦋🌟 Was für eine Show! Hier zauberte Mickey anhand einer Geschichte so viele verschiedene Szenen unterschiedlicher Disneygeschichten. Und auch Szenen aus dem bekannten Musical "Der König der Löwen" und "Die Eiskönigin". Wir sind alle hin und weg. 30 Minuten lang Musicalfeeling erleben 😍🥰 Einfach gigantisch und atemberaubend schön 🥰 Am Nachmittag zieht es uns zurück in den Disneylandpark. 🩷 Hier wollen wir unbedingt noch die Attraktionen erleben, die wir gestern nicht erlebt haben - Toy Story und Pinocchio zum Beispiel 🤗
Wir stärken uns bei einem Burger und Pommes Menu mit Kinoatmosphäre und lassen den wunderschönen Tag erneut mit der gigantischen Lichtershow inklusive Feuerwerk auf der Mainstreet ausklingen. 🌟🥳🤩
Was für zwei beeindruckende Tage liegen hinter uns. Zwei Tage voller Sonnenschein, Magie, Licht und Zauber. Zwei Tage voller Glück, hüpfenden Herzen, tanzende Freude und pures Leben. Wir können unser Glück noch immer kaum fassen 🥰Read more

Oh la la! J’ai trop mangé! I ate too much. But in my defence, the food was amazing and my head cold has meant I’ve eaten practically nothing over the last three days, so I felt this was a good sign. Day 3
Tweede magische dag

Was rond 8 uur wakker geworden na best een goede nachtrust. Rustig naar de ontbijtzaal gegaan om te eten van het internationale ontbijt buffet.

Na het ontbijt even het hotel verkend. Want heb daar nog geen tijd voor gehad gisteren. Langs het zwembad gelopen. Hopen op een bubbelbad maar niet gespot dus heb ik laten zitten.

Na het rondje tas gepakt en lekker het studio park ingelopen naar het Marvel deel. Daar doordat ik alleen was de singel rider lijnen gepakt waardoor ik in max 5 minuten in een achtbaan zat en daarna de webshooters uit kon proberen.

Daarna samengevoegd met de rest van de groep die wakker was en klaar was om weer te gaan. De rest van de dag attracties afgaan die we nog niet gehad hadden en parken verkend.

In de avond aten we in het Manhattan restaurant in het Marel new York hotel. Zag er allemaal luxe uit en smaakte goed.

Na het eten de chrush's coaster gedaan want daar kon Isabel niet in. Die was leuk! En hoofdpark weer in voor het vegen de attracties die nog open waren in. Waaronder Phantom Manor die helemaal leeg was!

Bij er uit komen vlogen de drones in de lucht voor de avond show wat echt bijzonder was om te zien. Voor het einde van de show terug gelopen naar het hotel en lekker douchen en naar bed. Morgen laatste dag in het park en de reis naar huis.Read more

Now this ride I really liked. It was as if you were a rat in the kitchen! When they light the stove you get blasted with hot air, and when they pop the champagne you get misted with water. Loads of fun.

The area around this ride is super cute. I haven’t found Mickey Mouse shaped waffles yet.Read more

Disney Day 2 - Efficiency is FUN!

Operation All the Rides - Part 1:
We started early making sure we were near the front of the queue for Magic Hour when only those staying in the Disney hotels (or rich enough to pay for the privilege separately) get and extra hour or so in the parks before the unwashed masses enter and the lines get long (up to 2 hours! in some cases!!). Following some serious detective and planning work by Super Kylz we, though, had a foolproof plan to beat the rush and get the best rides.
We did wonder why everyone was running still though after the gates opened…and the opposite way mostly… 🤔 Turns out Crush the Turtle’s (from Nemo) ride is the most popular in the park…
But that didn’t phase us - we had started strong with a ride that Ariah thought…at the time…was the scariest thing she’d ever do and never looked back!
We dropped from great heights, rode haunted broken elevators, spun around…and around…and around… (🤮 Dad), and had an awesome day.
After a bit of a break, and off-country cultural experience with our first ever visit to a Five Guys, we were back in the park for more rides once the crowds thinned out. However, the best was yet to come!
First we set a new PB on Ariah’s Scariest Ride lost with a trip on Hyperspace Mountain! Let’s just say, unexpectedly going upside down was not voted as best life moment (until the courage set in…see Day 2 for more on this).
Then we finished a long day watching an spectacular lightshow that had all the hits and fireworks!
We were stuffed but went home with big grins on our faces for a good sleep. 😴Read more
