Ile d'Yeu - per Fuß, Bus und Bahn

Einmal an Land stehen einem auf der Insel vielfältige Möglichkeiten offen. Wanderungen geführt oder auf eigene Faust, Radtouren, die Linienbusse und der "Petit Train". Mir meinem heutigen Bewegungshandicap entscheide ich für eine Tour mit dem Bus. Doch zuerst werfe ich einen Blick in das kleine Städtchen Port de Joinville. Am Morgen ist im Hafenbereich ein Markt mit allerlei lokalen Spezialitäten, auch der Fischhändler zeigt seine Waren. Zudem kann man im Ort einige nette Geschäft und Galerien anschauen. Gegen 12 Uhr klettere ich den Bus Linie 2 nach Port de Meule. Der Bus bzw. Die Fahrerin jagt mit einem Affenzahn durch die engen Straßen, fotografieren ist unmöglich, da ich mich mit beiden Händen festhalten muss. Heissa!! Zurück geht es mit der etwas gemächlicheren Linie 4. Jetzt ist der Hafen in Port Joinville wie ausgestorben, die Marktstände sind fort, die meisten Geschäfte haben geschlossen - Mittagszeit. Zeit für einen Kaffee mir einsetzenden Nieselregen. Um 14.30 Uhr beginnt dann die gebuchte Tour mit dem Petit Train. Leider auch hier nur Fotos an den Haltstellen, die Scheibe neben mir ist voller Regentropfen.Read more

Ile d'yeu

Hello again
So we are a little further south on ile d'yeu, we spent our first night at anchor off plage des vieilles, where we re-oiled the cockpit deck, but it was a bit rough overnight and due to get worse so we headed up north of Island to Port Joinville marina. We have been here for 2 nights and have 1 more planned. On day one we oiled Port side deck and rode around the North of the island. Where we saw point du chatelet, and Le vieux chateau and had our first experience of the little random beach huts on the road not beach. On day 2 we rode around the south to Port de la mule and St Saveurs, and then oiled rest of deck, today we walked to the old Fort and did some shopping. I am hoping to take John running later.
I have also completed another jigsaw and I did this one without looking at the picture! Sad eh?
Tomorrow, if they will have us, we hope to go to St Gilles Croix de Vie, have to call them back as we may be too heavy.Read more

N'empêche, le matin est vite là! Un temps de brume n'invite pas à la promenade, nous écoutons donc un moment les chanteurs à l'apéro, c'est émouvant. Un bon dîner "burger" et qq parties de cartes plus tard, nous reprenons place sur le Châtelet, notre bateau, qui nous ramène cette fois tranquillement au continent. Nous allons voir les travaux d'agrandissement terminés chez Aurélie et David. Quelle belle maison! Une fois rentrés, le sommeil ne tarde pas d'arriver.Read more
