    Munich

    October 5, 2015 in Germany

It's a rough start for Trav who feeling the effects of boozing the last two days. Luckily we set aside today for a rest day. Ben is also sick with a cold so we opt for quite day in to recover and rehydrate.

We head out to get some groceries and its absolute mayhem in the city. Being the last weekend of the festival and brilliant weather, the crowds are massive. Some of our friends venture back inside but they can hardly move. We're glad we've got the day off and enjoy relaxing back at Bens house.

It's our last day and Ben is feeling better so he takes us for a walking tour around town. Unfortunately the weather has taken a turn for the worse and were almost saturated by the time we reach the cafe. Our time in Munich draw to an end as we have a final dinner at a fancy Japanese 'Hot Pot' restuarant where you cook your own food on your personal stove!

The evening is topped off by one of Bens expensive red wines from his cellar.

    "EIN PROOOSIT, EIN PROSIT"

    September 28, 2015 in Germany

We survived Oktoberfest! Its been a great few days, I've never drunk so much beer in my life! Nick probably has though, the poor wee chap managed to catch a bug the night before so spent the first half of the first day in bed. Fortunately he was feeing better by the time Sian and Sam arrived so he joined us later on the first day. Both days were action packed with many steins, prositing, pork knuckles and songs. Nick also "efficiently" drank a stein, although i wasn't counting i think he would've done it sub 10 seconds!

Today we visited the Dachau concentration camp with Sam ans Sian, it was very interesting but so mind blowing.

Tomorrow we're heading to a castle, then on to Italy which im quite excited about. Miss you all xo

    Munich Day Two

    October 10, 2015 in Germany

We spent the day around the area next to Neuschwanstein castle in the Bavarian country side, its one of the incredibly expensive glamout castles commissioned by the Bavarian King Ludwig II which was 75% complete before his suspicious death when the government coffers got nearly empty, it inspired Disney studios for Sleeping Beauty and probably the Disney logo.Read more

    Munich Day 3

    October 10, 2015 in Germany

Took a walking tour of the city and its plazas , which covered the history of the Bavarian kings, where the Nazis began their political movements, and the restored buildings after the city was 80% destroyed post Allied bombings. On the more cheerful now we also learnt about how intrinsic beer is to the city and we had lunch on a beer hall.Read more
