Hübel-Berg

Bit of sightseeing today in the Palatinate Wine Region. This is the area where the family live and it is the second biggest wine region in all of Germany. We drove through hundreds of hectares of vineyards and cute little villages. So pretty 🤩

📍 First stop was Burgruine Castle, Rietburg- we took the chair lift to Rietburg castle ruins. Eva, Michael, Levi, Jacques and I took a short detour into the forest to feed the deer 🦌 the landscape reminded me of a fairy garden 😍 The castle itself had an amazing view over the Rhine plain. We enjoyed a cold drink at the top taking in the views 🍺

📍 Victory & Peace Monument - this was an ornate arch monument which was built to represent the German’s victory in the Prussian-French war in the late 1800’s. Beautiful view and interesting history!

📍 Naturfreundehaus Edenkoben - A huge old house in the middle of the forest, converted into a guest house & restaurant with a beer garden. Absolutely beautiful place! We had lunch here which consisted of typical German schnittys! Delicious. Levi had fun playing in the park here.
