We drove north of Bremen to Teufelsmoor and Breites Wasser for a walk along the Beek River. This is Friesland where they speak Plattdeutsch. It is a mixture of German, Dutch and Danish. Low German or Low Saxon is a West Germanic language spoken mainly in Northern Germany and the northeastern part of the Netherlands. Even in Bremen and Hamburg it is common to say ‘Moin’ (Good Day). Friesland historically known as Frisia, is a province of the Netherlands located in the northern part of the country. It is situated west of Groningen, northwest of Drenthe and Overijssel, north of Flevoland, northeast of North Holland, and south of the Wadden Sea.
After a refreshing walk we stopped at Kaffee zum Brinkhof in Teufelsmoorstraße, Osterholz-Scharmbeck for enormous Torten and coffee.Read more
