    Weiterreise nach Hellnar

    March 5 in Iceland ⋅ ☀️ 0 °C

    Sea Stacks at Hellnar

    November 6, 2016 in Iceland ⋅ 🌬 8 °C

Well, we waited and we waited and the wind almost blew the mountains down. The weather got worse so, after watching some other mad photographers attempt to take on the elements (and failing miserably), we decided to move on.

Unbelievably, as we travelled westward along the north of the peninsula the wind gusted even stronger, jolting the car as we travelled along. More driving rain and fog made this a truly difficult day for photography.

We stopped for a coffee break at Hellnar which also has sea stacks which it claims rival those at Reynisfjara Beach at Vik - where we christened the tourists 'Penguins' if you recall. So we donned our wet weather gear and braved the elements to see what we could get. Not sure if we got a stunning photograph but we did get wet!

    Basalt und Schokotorte

    August 3, 2019 in Iceland ⋅ ⛅ 13 °C

Read more

    August 8, 2018 in Iceland ⋅ ☀️ 11 °C

Read more

How many ways can you photograph the same church? Way too many! This church is located in one of the many fishing villages scattered along the coast of Iceland.

Erected in 1945, the new structure replaced the original church that was first raised in 1833. It sits perched atop a cliff in a breathtaking setting. We wondered around for almost an hour enjoying the peacefulness and the views this hidden gem offered.

Afterwards, we attempted to located a highly rated cliffside cafe. We think we found it but it was closed. We did discover a scenic cove not far from the parking area.
