    Ranganathittu: Bird Sanctuary

    May 7 in India ⋅ ⛅ 32 °C

    February 18 in India ⋅ ⛅ 29 °C

We are almost at our destination, but before reaching Mysore Swamy drives us through XXXX, the town of Tippu Sultan. Swamy starts telling us the story of this local hero and we realise how ignorant we are in the matter…
We don’t have time to stop, but we can admire from the care the impressive defensive walls of this fortress city ad well as the tomb of Tippu Sultan himself.Read more

Mysore, Abandoned at the toilet TO DO

    February 18 in India ⋅ ⛅ 33 °C

The next stop of our programme is the Chamundi Hill Temple, a Hindu temple at the top of a sacred hill not far from the city. Before starting driving up, we are spoilt with a toilet stop in the restrooms of a luxurious restaurant. Dropped off at the entrance gate, we nonchalantly walk through the tables ignoring the puzzled looks of the guests and finally reach the long-desired restrooms. So far, they are probably the cleanest ones we have seen in India. When we reach again the gate, however, we have a bad surprise: there is no sign of Swamy, of our guide nor of the car!

After waiting a good fifteen minutes (in the shadow, of course), we start getting worried and go looking for our car and driver. However, as soon as we get to the road we realise that our car model must be the trendy one at the moment in India: literally all cars parked in the road look identical to ours!

We repeatedly try to call Swamy on WhatsApp, but with no luck. When he finally picks up we beg him to pick us up… but we are not sure if he got the message. Maybe he got pissed because we didn’t give him any tips yet?

We are already resigned to having being abandoned to ourselves, when Swamy´s car suddenly appears and stops near us. We understand it’s not a delusion when we feel the lovely breeze of the air conditioning on our face. At least today we won’t die rotting in an abandoned parking lot...
