Srinagar has historically been known for its widely acclaimed gardens around the fringe of Dal Lake. Through British rule, Srinagar further cultivated its gardening hobby. Even so, Nishat Bagh, established by the Mughals well before any colonial presence on the subcontinent, was by far the most beautiful.
