      Im Herzen Balis - Ubud

      June 30, 2022 in Indonesia ⋅ ⛅ 26 °C

      July 2, 2022 in Indonesia ⋅ ⛅ 26 °C

      Ubud Doctors Day

      November 1, 2023 in Indonesia ⋅ ☁️ 31 °C

While our parents checked out the art of Ubud at Pura Luki San, Katha accompanied Ben to the doctor. He took really good care of him, checked his blood, gave him an infusion of vitamins and paracetamol to make sure that he got well soon.
We took some rest during the afternoon and later that evening Katha and Bärbel took a nice pedicure before trying some lovely family warung in the city center.
On the way home, Bärbel suddenly felt bad and shockingly lost her consciousness while drinking water on the side of the road. Luckily a lot of people offered their help and the ambulance picked her up.
For Katha that meant the second visit within one day to the doctor and luckily for Bärbel it was apparently only some food processing problem and nothing serious! 🍀

      Ubud - Bali

      March 2, 2023 in Indonesia ⋅ ☁️ 30 °C

After a whole traveling from Ende through Labuan Bajo and to Bali, then the drive up to Ubud, we sat down for a nice meal and after a wander went to see the Legong Dance at Ubud Palace.

What a contrast we noticed between being the rare sight in Ende where there was no non-Indonesian food to be found to the busy westernised Ubud. It's such a treat to the eyes to walk around and see temple upon temple decorated with hindu deities and flowers. The hotel we are staying at is accessed by walking through a temple.Read more

      Ubud retreat

      March 5, 2023 in Indonesia ⋅ 🌧 29 °C

So we rocked up at Radiantly Alive for a test Vinyassa Flow class and liked the place. Having seen the option, and wanting a physical challenge we decided to get a one week unlimited class pass, and what a surprise we were in for!!

We secured ourselves a lovely hotel with pool for the week where we spent time between classes.
Doing such intense work in such a hot and humid place, we found ourselves running out of sports clothes, so we went and bought Bali style yoga outfits.

The first few days consisted in a series of physical yoga classes which we very much liked. But soon we discovered all these different practices we had never tried and decided to give them a go. We embarked on a 4-5 day totally unexpected whirlwind of self-discovery and energetic fields. It happened to also coimcide with the full moon, which I felt more acutely than usual. There definitely is a stron energy force going on in Ubud.
Some of the practices we discovered were: Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra, Himalayan Kriya Yoga, Breathwork, Qi Gong, Embodied Connection, among others. Each and every one of thesr had a distinct and noticeable effect on us, allowing us to really feel, look in, see the shift and work through it. We traveled back into childhood and our life paths together sharing life paths, experiences, feelings, hurt, issues, etc. Laura and I got to know eachother infinitely more, to the core. And what beautiful cores! What a beautiful journey!

We met up with Kati twice, who happened to have just started her yoga teacher training in Ubud, although we didn't think to make any photos at the time!

We also happened to meet all sorts of people through the classes, lovely people we connected with, with their own story to share.

      Uluwatu-Ubud

      August 19, 2023 in Indonesia ⋅ ☀️ 22 °C

Včera jsme poseděli u bazénu do 0.30, omladina do 2.30, proto nám dneska to vstávání nešlo.
V parku byly monumentální sochy boha Wisnu a ptáka Garuda, muzeum, divadlo a další rozsáhlé volné plochy, které slouží ke společenským akcím. Na divadlo jsme nešli, ale ochutnali jsme vynikající zmrzlinu red velvet a cheesecake strawbery. Dali jsme si tam i lehký oběd, já například jen džus z manga.

      August 21, 2023 in Indonesia ⋅ ⛅ 22 °C

      August 22, 2023 in Indonesia ⋅ ⛅ 25 °C

      February 25, 2022 in Indonesia ⋅ ⛅ 25 °C

      🇩🇪
      🇬🇧
Cooking class in Bali. Balinese cuisine is very different from Indonesian cuisine, we were told. In general, we're not that enthusiastic, but we hope that if we do a cooking class, it will convince us a lot more. Hmm...on the one hand, everything is sharp again, I can't stand that at all. On the other hand, there are many small steps to consider, which unfortunately were taken from us in the course, which makes everything a bit complicated and takes the fun out of it. We tried to participate as well as we could and I tried to eat what wasn't spicy, it wasn't that much. But one or the other could taste good if we change it to our liking. But the little green balls with coconut blossom sugar are super tasty, we'll try to imitate them. Let me say it out loud: The best food we had on the trip was in Istanbul and Thailand.
