    Tel Aviv - Flohmarkt

    December 27, 2018 in Israel ⋅ 🌧 13 °C

    Tel Aviv, Jaffa Tour

    November 24, 2019 in Israel ⋅ ☀️ 17 °C

The day starts off with with an early wake-up, a lot of packing and a new breakfast record: pizza and ravioli in the same meal. I fear Ludo's birth certificate in Modena will soon be voided...

At 8am we are all in the bus, ready to start our adventure in this amazing country called Israel. Yesterday evening we watched some YouTube documentaries on the history of the Jews and of this land, which turns out very useful. Our guide is indeed a German who moved here years ago and her English is, let's say, not the best. So, knowing some basic info beforehand comes very handy.

Before heading North towards Cesarea (the first destination of our tour), our bus brings us to the top of the Jaffa hill, from where we enjoy a stunning view of the city... and Ludo makes friend with a local kitten, that nonchalantly climbs on his leg and lies on his tigh. 😺

We then move on to the so-called "Wish bridge", a suspension bridge carrying the symbles of the 12 zodiac signs. Legend has it, that if you tough your own zodiac sign and make a wish by looking at the sea, the wish will eventually come true. Let's see... 🙄

After a quick visit at St. Peter's Church, we are ready to hit the road again. Next stop: Caesarea!

    Jaffa, Synagoge & Clock Tower

    November 23, 2019 in Israel ⋅ ☀️ 21 °C

Once completed the challenges in the church area, we have to go back towards the Smiling Whale and then take a narrow staircase which brings us into the heart of a sort of citadel. After finding the hidden entrance to a synagogue, we go back downhill towards the main landmark of this area: an ancient clock tower. And, along the way, we catch sight of a beautiful Mosque with a stunning marble portal.
Next stop: the suburb of Florentin!

Tel Aviv & Jaffa by night

    November 23, 2019 in Israel ⋅ 🌙 19 °C

It's only 4.30pm but the day (intended as daylight) is almost over. Waiting for the sunset, we get back to the beach, where we admire Jaffa and the Tel Aviv skyline with the twilight sky in the background.
Once the sun is set, we walk back to Jaffa to admire Tel Aviv by night before walking back to hour hotel and enjoying our usual picknick dinner.
We couldn't have better concluded our stay in Tel Aviv. And tomorrow the real adventure starts... 🤩
