    Cique Terre und Portofino

    October 13 in Italy ⋅ ☀️ 18 °C

Read more

    Portofino

    July 19 in Italy ⋅ ☀️ 27 °C

    Portofino vibes

    August 16 in Italy ⋅ ⛅ 27 °C

Another day trip, though we have learned by now not to drive anywhere in Italy by car (parking spots can be almost impossible to find). Hence we took a 1 hour train to Santa Margherita and from there walked to the famous "fisher's village" (nowadays rather a chicky micky hub), on our way getting a glance of the impressive yachts, each worth several tens of millions of euros. At one point we witnessed an entire boat staff waiting for the owner in order to get him to shore. But we were disappointed: no George Clooney anywhere.
It's easy to see why all the rich and famous like to hang out here. The combination of the crystal clear sea and a colourful village carved into the surrounding hills makes for a beautiful chillout spot. For us normal people without our private yacht, however, the slightly calmer but still gorgeous village of Santa Margherita was a little more worthwhile. We enjoyed a great dinner work Aperitivo, ligurian pasta with genovese pesto, bufalla pizza, tiramisù and espresso - or in short: enjoyed the dolce vita.

    Portofino

    June 28, 2016 in Italy ⋅ ☁️ 19 °C

Anchoring here now, brekkie on board then tender into the port. Taking a bus trip today to Santa Margarita and Genoa as we saw Portofino last time...these pics taken in Portofino this trip. Still an utterly stunning place.Read more

    Hello Portofino!

    August 12 in Italy ⋅ ☀️ 26 °C

    Paddel-time!

    August 12 in Italy ⋅ ☀️ 27 °C

    Portofino, Italy

    August 18, 2017 in Italy ⋅ ⛅ 25 °C

As part of the Italian Riviera, this rustic and elegant small harbor is very popular with the affluent, as seen by all the yachts in the harbor.
We enjoyed strolling around the village and visiting the shops and cafes.Read more

    Chivari

    July 9, 2019 in Italy ⋅ ⛅ 27 °C

At Chivari we stayed for three nights from which we visited Cinque Terra and Portofino. Chivari itself is a lovely city with buildings painted with the 3D look.....in the European colors. It has good beaches and our accommodation was good though has no air conditioning which meant difficulty sleeping in the heat. We took a day trip to Portofino by ferry which was very enjoyable. The views from the top of the old monastery on hill over Portofino were great....and the usual super yachts and launches tired up to the piers seemed to me to defend more time being polished by their staff. I swam at the first boat stop around the corner from Portofino to cool off!Read more
