Besuch bei Mickey und seinen Freunden

      September 17, 2023 in Japan ⋅ ☀️ 31 °C

Read more

      Disneyland Tokyo (by Lewis)

      March 3, 2023 in Japan ⋅ ☀️ 52 °F

A few days ago we went to Disneyland in Tokyo. My parents got us tickets as a birthday present for my brother and me. Some of my favorite rides there were Big Thunder Mountain, a whooping rollercoaster, and the Happy Ride with Baymax, which is Baymax driving you around in a triple figure eight. One of my favorite foods was the mochi dumplings with different flavors inside. It’s hard to believe, but they were shaped like the Little Green Aliens from Toy Story. My favorite flavor was the chocolate mochi.
Disneyland Tokyo was a lot more fun than Disneyland California. For example, there are a lot more popcorn stands in Tokyo than in California. The popcorn flavors are curry, salt, caramel, chocolate, cookie, and strawberry. Additionally, there is no line cutting. Everybody stands in long lines patiently. Something a bit unusual was that strangers wave at strangers all the time. For example, when I was waiting for Mom and Andrew to finish going on Raging Spirits, almost everyone that went by waved at me. There may be less rollercoasters in Tokyo, but there are definitely more activities to do in Tokyo than in California.

      Tokyo DisneySea

      April 4 in Japan ⋅ ☁️ 16 °C

On the penultimate day of our trip, we spent the day in Tokyo DisneySea, the only such Disney theme park in the world (all others being Disneyland). We were joined by Shashank and Sadhvi. We reached the park early, around 7.30am and were still met with long queues. We strategised on which rides we are going to run towards, and which ones we’ll book via the different passes on the app. We had researched via Reddit on how to make the best of the day at the park. Sharp at 9.00am Divya and Sadhvi ran to queue for Tower of Terror while Shashank and I booked the first set of priority pass, premier access and the light show Believe successfully. Our plans for the day worked out and it was interesting to see how spending a couple of hours to strategy made so much difference to the experiences we could get through the day. We were able to go on all the popular rides with minimal wait time. We loved Soaring (the best ride of the day by a margin), Journey to the centre of the Earth, Indiana Jones and Tower of Terror. We also liked the Mermaid Lagoon and Arabian Coast. We ended up meeting Abu and singing the Aladdin theme song, which was special because Shashank and I used to watch Disney’s Aladdin on TV as kids. We were a bit disappointed by the shows, partly because they were all in Japanese and some (Believe and the final fireworks) because they were just underwhelming. All in all, a great day at a great theme park.Read more

      Tokyo Day two

      April 3 in Japan ⋅ 🌧 14 °C

We woke up at seven a.m. to get a bus to Disney Sea and got McDonald's for breakfast. We got to Disney Sea at 8:15 when it was starting to open. Once we got in, we went straight to the ride soaring, which had a 2-hour wait. So then we went to 20000 leagues under the sea. After that we went to Ariel's playground and met up with mom, Sawyer, and Grammie. Then we took a boat ride to the Indiana Jones ride and used the fast pass for it. The next thing we did was to go to dinner. Once we were done with dinner then we went to the ride Down To The Center Of The Earth. Finally we did our last rides which were Raging Spirits, Soaring, which we had fast passes for, and Gondola's. Raging Spirits and Soaring were fun but the Gondola was well timed with the Disneyland fireworks. Then we caught a 7:30 bus home.Read more

      Disneyland Tokyo

      June 25, 2023 in Japan ⋅ ☀️ 29 °C

For our last day in Japan we went to Disneyland! A big day of trying themed foods, lines, rides, crowds and lots of lines.

Highlights - Space Mountain, Star Wars, Mickey Mouse puff pastry cheeseburger, 3 x of popcorn (caramel, pepper and curry), Toy Story mochi and a smoked chicken leg with a cold beer.

We arrived at 9am and left at 6pm, so by the time we got back to Shinjuku we had a quick dinner of tonkatsu curry and back to the hotel to get ready for our flight to Paris!

We loved Tokyo and can’t wait to come back for a longer trip.

      Soaring: Fantastic Flight

      September 20, 2023 in Japan ⋅ ☁️ 29 °C

This is the headline act for Disney Sea. A really immersive movie experience, so we prioritised this one as our first fast pass purchase. With feet dangling, we glided through various land, sea, and skyscapes. The quality of the movie was incredible, like 4k60fps. The breeze was cool, and as we travelled through the different countries and scenes, the smell would change too! The normal line was 120 mins but we got to go on straight away. Very glad we did this ride as it was magical.Read more

Disneyland & DisneySea Tokyo (by Andrew)

      March 2, 2023 in Japan ⋅ 🌬 48 °F

We went to Tokyo Disneyland and loved the rides. We went on Space Mountain. Did you know that the people who made Space Mountain accidentally created a cookie in the programming. They let it stay in the program. We did not see the cookie. I think they may have redone the software. There were also some other rides like Big Thunder Mountain. I liked the part where you go through a waterfall. You only got a little misted on your head and lap. It has a pretty long line, but if you get up early, the wait would be 20-30 minutes. Even if you get up late, the line may be 40 minutes, but still it’s worth it. There is also a “Buzz Lightyear Astro Blaster” ride where you try to shoot the targets that have Zs on them. The circles with a Z on them are 100 points, a square with a Z is 1,000, a triangle is 5,000 with a Z, and last but not least the diamond is 10,000 points with a Z. If you go on the Buzz L ightyear ride aim for the diamonds. I loved it because first, the people are really nice, second, the rides are pretty fun, and third, they have so much popcorn!!!Read more

      Tokyo Disney Sea #2 Dusk

      October 25, 2023 in Japan ⋅ ☁️ 22 °C

Something that really captured my heart was a ride called Sinbad's Storybook Voyage, it was a ride similar to "It's a small world" with animated puppets and a catchy song, only with a Sinbad theme. Very unique and only available in Tokyo Disney Sea. It featured beautifully animated puppets, a heart warming message and an incredible song, that Alan Menken wrote exclusively for the Disney Attraction. Compass of your Heart. Here is some very interesting background information on the ride: https://www.piratesandprincesses.net/the-strang… and here is a virtual ride through the attraction: https://youtu.be/ZI1Ggn0g5ls?si=pqc-tod5KsYWF97- I got very attached and went crazy in buying some Chandu🐯 merchandise afterwards :-)

      Arabian Coast

      April 6, 2023 in Japan ⋅ 🌬 20 °C

      Mermaid Lagoon

      April 6, 2023 in Japan ⋅ 🌬 20 °C
