    Robot Restaurant

    January 6 in Japan ⋅ ⛅ 6 °C

We arrived to Tokyo at 3pm. It was pretty hard to navigate to our hotel as streets didn’t seem to have names, or maybe we just couldn’t tell because we can’t read or speak Japanese. After dropping our stuff off at the hotel, Nogha Hotel Ueno (would def recommend) we got organised and went to our Robot Restaurant reservation. We didn’t book the food, just the show option. It was weird. We made our way back to Ueno and stopped at a 24 hour restaurant for some dinner... YUM!Read more

    Tokyo (Shinjuku)

    January 2 in Japan ⋅ ☀️ 10 °C

After leaving Kanazawa we made it back to Tokyo and spent the majority of time in Shinjuku. We also got pretty lucky at the motel we chose and got a free room upgrade when we arrived.

We visited the bad art museum exhibit here. This is a collection of pretty terrible art, but weirdly each piece had something to attract viewers and deserve some type of praise.

In Tokyo you can also go on a Mario Kart tour of the city. This involved choosing a costume, getting a go-kart with had been painted to look like a Mario Kart by Nintendo, and ride around the main spots of the city over a couple of hours. While going down hills you could manage to push it to 80km/hr which was a lot of fun.

Tokyo has the highest concentration of bars in the world. Spawned throughout the city are countless miniature watering holes. These places are pretty intimate and would generally fit no more than 8 people. It made it kind of cool, cause you’d end up meeting other people as you traded elbow room.
