We took a rest day in Guanajuato, and continued our wandering through the streets and squares of the historic city. It's amazing to see churches dating back as far as the 17th century and imagine how the city has grown into the colourful maze that it is today. The Saturday streets were filled with people out and about, and delicious food (as always!). We walked up to the Pipila Statue to get a good view of the city, then through a few tunnels, and finally made sure to walk through the famous Callejon de Besos (the kissing street).Read more

Conociendo Guanajuato

Comenzamos el día muy temprano, desayunamos unos chilaquiles en un restaurante del centro y, siguiendo la recomendación del encargado del hotel, contratamos un tour para visitar lo más que pudiéramos de Guanajuato en ese par de días que pasaríamos ahí.

El tour nos llevó a conocer el Museo de los Lamentos, el Museo de la Tortura (donde formamos parte de la exhibición), el Museo de las momias, El Pípila y la Mina de la Valenciana.

Por la noche, caminamos por el centro y observamos muchas estudiantinas en la calle que invitaban a unirse a las muy famosas callejoneadas, experiencia que no podíamos perdernos; comenzamos a caminar en grupo por los bonitos e iluminados callejones del centro, cantando (y tomando) bajo una noche lluviosa.Read more
