    July 14, 2016 in Mexico ⋅ ⛅ 26 °C

Yelapa finally woke up at 8:00. She had gotten closer to me in the middle of the night, occasionally putting her chin in my hand. When she saw her leash she got all excited. We walked to the beach which is literally a block away. A lot of guys out there with their off leash dogs running wild. She loves the beach, and of course she poops right there in the sand, and of course I pick it up. She is such a quiet dog, and I think she has a keen sense of smell. She has to sniff every bush, every tree trunk, everything. Same behavior I noticed on the beach in Yelapa - BassamRead more

    Cenaduria Celia Restaurant

    July 14, 2016 in Mexico ⋅ ☁️ 27 °C

This is where we go to eat authentic Mexican food. With us are the two friends from Seattle who are restaurateurs; they own a Mexican restaurant in Seattle. I order Pozole with mixed meats including pig's feet (my favorite); delicious - BassamRead more

    Playa Los Arcos

    July 15, 2016 in Mexico ⋅ ☁️ 28 °C

He took me for a walk in the evening. He talks funny. Most of the time I don't get what he's saying, except when he calls me "bonita", I like that. Occasionally he will say "ven aquí" so I go to him. I am starting to like him, he is kind to me. He has been taking me to the beach many times a day to walk in the sand and on the wet edge where the waves break. I miss my beach, and the jungle that starts where the beach ends. Funny, he keeps calling the name of my beach when he wants my attention, just like the Fernandez' did when I was staying with them. I guess that will be my name, Yelapa, Yelapa they call me. That's where I first saw them, He and the two ladies with him. I still don't know what he's got planned for me, but for some reason I don't care. I have a feeling it will be good. - YelapaRead more

    Casa Fantasia

    July 18, 2016 in Mexico ⋅ ☁️ 29 °C

We may be going out one last time with my Puerto Vallarta Familia. But he is getting busy packing. He had kept our room tidy, but now it is a little messy. I sit at the edge of the bed watching him. I still don't have any appetite, must be my nerves. For the first time today it rained gently for 20 minutes. Stopped now, which is a good thing because I may have to take him out for a walk - YelapaRead more

    Malecón - One last time

    July 18, 2016 in Mexico ⋅ ⛅ 27 °C

He had bought some teeshirts, one size too small. We walk on the Malecón, it is still early and there are hardly any people or any dogs. Is the shop going to be open yet? When we get to the store, the lady had just opened the shutters and was starting to put the merchandise out. He tells her he needs large size, not medium. She jokes that he has been eating too many tacos. He laughs. Then she wanted to know all about me. He tells her we are leaving tomorrow, and that it will be my first ride on a plane. It is starting to really sink in. Yes, really. This is happening - YelapaRead more

    Casa Fantasia

    July 16, 2016 in Mexico ⋅ ⛅ 25 °C

I make sure to get up somewhat early. I drag him out of bed to go walk on the beach. I can't have enough of the playa, that is my thing. Early in the morning there are more dogs, it seems, than humans. I like seeing all the dogs, they all have brought their human friends with them. The friends sit on the low wall and talk and laugh while the dogs run and play in the sand. When I walk on the sand they all run up to me to say Hola. I have some business to take care of, and after I walk him for a while, it's time to go back to Casa Fantasia for our breakfast. I eat mine in the room, but he eats his in the courtyard while I sit there keeping my eye on him. I want to make sure that I don’t lose him - YelapaRead more

    Hotel Casa Fantasia

    July 12, 2016 in Mexico ⋅ ⛅ 30 °C

Very quaint, a true flavor of old Puerto Vallarta. Was an old casa converted into a 10 room hotel. I have one of the rooms overlooking the courtyard. I can hear the water splashing in the fountain and the noises of the city. I am definitely enjoying the old charm - BassRead more

    Casa Fantasia

    July 13, 2016 in Mexico ⋅ ⛅ 23 °C

Very comfortable bed last night. My clothes are still drying on the back of chairs, haha. Yesterday was a fiasco with the rental car. Rental car companies are running something of a scam here. I wasn't able to meet up with Eduardo because of the car issue. Hopefully I can pick up a car today and see Eduardo and finally see Yelapa again.

Time to go downstairs for coffee and see what kind of breakfast they have - Bassam

    On the Malecón

    July 15, 2016 in Mexico ⋅ ☁️ 24 °C

Walked the whole length of the Malecón, taking selfies along the way, with Yelapa of course. Wanted to go to the grocery store to buy a few things. Walked right in, but couldn't find a basket. Walked out to ask for a basket, the door attendant saw Yelapa, pointed to a no dogs sign and said I couldn't bring her in. He said I could tie her outside and go in, I said no way Jose (could've been his name). All I need after all this trouble is to lose her. So we walked back. I bought a hat and cheapo sunglasses along the way. She looked at me funny, I don't think she approves of my taste. She's already sounding like Laura - BassamRead more
