    Schwierigkeiten im Bereich Infrastruktur

    May 24 in Mexico ⋅ ⛅ 21 °C

Read more

    Leon

    June 1, 2015 in Mexico ⋅ ☁️ 16 °C

After a big day we catchup with our new friend Kris (aka border crossing guide) at the central park and take her out for dinner at a local pizza joint whilst making sure we stop by at an impressive street food BBQ vendor to satisfy Suki's cravings......

    México City

    June 7, 2018 in Mexico ⋅ ⛅ 23 °C

The flight from Cancún was ahead of time. Really like them showing the view from the front of the plane during take-offs and landings. But with folk taking their time getting off the plane, and a shuttle bus to the terminal, it made for a very quick stopover in México City, an hour and 45 minutes.

Because the next flight was International to Cuba, for some reason I wasn't allowed to check-in online or at Cancún. So I had to pick up my bag, then go to International check-in, which seemed miles away, checked it onto the flight, then go through security again. Finally got through with about 40 minutes before the flight, 10 minutes before flying, just enough time to get a drink.

Museo del tequila y el mezcal (#2)

    July 27 in Mexico ⋅ ⛅ 15 °C

Read more

Basílica de la Vigen de Guadalupe

    August 6 in Mexico ⋅ 🌧 22 °C

Read more

    My friend recommended

    July 11 in Mexico ⋅ ⛅ 16 °C

I was recommended to visit the Bosque de Aragon and the zoo which is across the road.
Having been to the main zoo in Mexico city i was a bit sceptical that this one was going to be sub-par, and it was in a few ways, but also brilliant in other ways.
I am very pro zoo and i feel that they give people an opportunity to be inspired to save our animals, i find them to be educational for kids and overall a good experience.
Yes, i understand that the animals live a life that is not 'normal' for them but soon we will have no animals - so this is the lesser of 2 evils in my opinion (also zoos provide an avenue to expand the gene pool for animals on the verge of extinction).
So, here 99% of the animals are in good condition and the living areas are pretty good. They are not overcrowded and have plenty of shade and the environment is very similar to what the animals would live in normally.
The exception is the 'old zoo' where it was an interesting experience to step back in time and see just how far zoos have come in terms of looking after the animals.
Hippos in swimming pools, antelopes in caged areas with sheds for shade, and birds in aviaries way too small for the species. This was a bit of a downer but i still appreciated that a zoo which charges nothing to enter has to have some pitfalls, i mean who is covering the cost here. Not like Sydney Taronga zoo which is $50 to get in, with half the big name species.
Another fun and interesting part of the day was venturing through the surrounding park, obviously at one point it was an amazing place, now it is filled with decrepit fun parks and buildings. It is very moody and great for photos. I really liked it, and won't surprise myself if i head back before i leave.

    Mexiko-Stadt

    December 28, 2016 in Mexico ⋅ 🌙 17 °C

Mexiko-Stadt liegt in 2.300 Metern Höhe.
