    Whanganui - Wellington

    April 17 in New Zealand ⋅ ☁️ 11 °C

Very early walk at the beach yesterday morning in Whanganui. Nice black volcanic sand and an exceptional clear view to Mount Taranaki across 150km!
We left Whanganui in the morning and drove 4 hours straight down to Wellington in the very south of the North Island. Not much to see in between.
Today spending the day in Wellington and celebrating Marc‘s 14th birthday 🎂.
In the late evening we will take the Ferry ⛴ to Picton (South island).

    Wellington

    January 5 in New Zealand ⋅ ⛅ 17 °C

After a night in the hotel and a good breakfast I went back to the airport to pick up my car. Now I can really get started 😊
First I went a little bit into the city to take a walk around the waterfront. The weather is really nice, between 22-25 degrees but it’s blowing like hell 😳
So it feels much colder then it actually is. After a nice walk and extremely good ice cream I went shopping to buy all the stuff I gonna need the next weeks and then straight to the camping place outside of Wellington. Here I organized all my stuff and had a calm and relaxing afternoon and evening. I met a girl from Switzerland who is standing next to me. We’ve been talking a lot and decided to meet up on the South Island again in a few days to make some hikes together 😊
Tomorrow I have to get up at 6 am because I need to be at the ferry terminal already at 7.30, 1 hour before the ferry is leaving Wellington to go over to Picton on the South Island.
It’s going to be a tuff and short night, it’s still blowing like hell 😳

    17-10 Lower hutt

    October 17, 2018 in New Zealand ⋅ ☁️ 14 °C

Gaat super snel. Heb ik i.i.g. niet de halve nacht voor niets wakker gelegen, alles uitgedacht. Ondertussen draait onze was, jemig wat stinken we. Lekker uit eten in de pub.Read more

    LotR Part 4 Weta Caves

    December 7, 2017 in New Zealand ⋅ ☀️ 20 °C

Last part of the tour was the Weta Caves.
Here they are actually creating all the prosthetics, weapons and sets for many different movies.
We made a tour around and they told us how they actually are making all these amazing things. Sadly it was not allowed to take any pictures on the tour but outside and in the shop was a few nice sculptures 🙂
It has been an incredibly hot day today with 30 degrees so it was really, really nice to spend some time inside and away from the sun. The sun really stings and that's something I am absolutely not used to 🙈
Tomorrow I gonna leave Wellington behind me and start to travel around. Gonna be nice to get out of the city and all the horrible traffic there.

    December 4, 2017 in New Zealand ⋅ ⛅ 22 °C

Finally, I made it to Wellington!
After picking up my car I went to the camping place. Took me over 1h for 30 km. Rush hour 🙈
I just went for a fast shopping trip and the went to sleep quite early.
    Tomorrow I gonna explore Wellington.
Weather is really good here. Around 23 degrees but quite windy what is normal actually. Wellington is also called the Windy City. 😉Read more
