Day 4: finish it off with some ice cream

    April 22, 2019 in Germany ⋅ ⛅ 19 °C

After 480 km in the saddle, 3800m in altitude and with 4 sunburned legs we arrived back in Ingolstadt. The final 50km were a big fight with the power of nature due to strong headwinds.
To recharge energy we had some big ice cream.
In the end it was a very recommendable bike trip with amazing landscapes and of course hard work for the calves.

Today, we already started our return trip towards Ingolstadt. Enjoyed some great views along Isar River. Our camp tonight is quite luxurious - and right next to Pilsen lake. So we could enjoy a dip in the ice cold water. Great to calm the tired muscles...Read more

Day 2: Found the spring of Isar River

    April 20, 2019 in Germany ⋅ 🌫 3 °C

Today, we actually made it to the Spring of Isar River, the reason why we went on this trip. It was truelly "magical" - while it almost feels like summer all over Germany, we were surprised by the snow that blocked our way. Made it pretty hard for us - but no way to give up and turn around just some km away from the goal 😉

The tour from Ammersee to campground Isarhorn was generally pretty beautiful - but with our "little" detour and in total 132km we are ready for a good night of sleep!!

    First leg: Ingolstadt to Ammersee

    April 19, 2019 in Germany ⋅ ☀️ 10 °C

With all our gear ready, we started our 4-day-trip after a proper breakfast. The weather is perfect, so cycling was great fun. The first night, we are going to spend at Ammersee, a 118km tour from Ingolstadt through the Bavarian hinterland. Regarding the animals, it's actually pretty close to what we expect to meet in Peru - so Herbert practiced his Spanish with the Alpaca 😉
Once at Ammersee, we took a dip in the lake - still pretty cold, but a treat for the tired legs. And what can be better that a cold beer in the sun after a long day of exercise?? Life is awesome!!
