      In giro per Chiese/dai nonni di Adrian😍

      Oggi è stato davvero bello! Mattina tranquilla, poi con Javi, Uxue e Temo siamo andati in giro per Białystok, e abbiamo visitato le chiese: sia Cristiane che Ortodosse. Nella grande chiesa bianca, un signore ci ha detto che potevamo salire sulla torre del campanile, e abbiamo visto Białystok dall'alto 😍😍

      Dopo aver girato ancora un po', siamo andati dai nonni di Adrian, e ci hanno raggiunto anche Elene e Masha. Abbiamo conosciuto anche i fratelli di Adrian, Camil e Gerard, e abbiamo mangiato tanto e bene 😋

      Stamattina abbiamo iniziato a lavorare nel centro comunale
      Abbiamo fatto conoscenza con il resto del gruppo
      Anna Sophia e Joanna, le due responsabili
      Rafa, 18 anni, dal Brasile 🇧🇷
      Uxue, 20 anni, dalla Spagna 🇪🇸
      Elene, 21 anni, dalla Georgia🇬🇪
      Masha, 21 anni, dalla Georgia🇬🇪
      Temur, 25 anni, dalla Georgia🇬🇪
      Adrien, 24 anni, dalla Polonia, 🇵🇱

      Abbiamo fatto attività di conoscenza, e un kahoot su cos'è il Corpo Europeo di Solidarietà (e ho vinto 🎉).

      Per pranzo siamo andati a mangiare in un self service vicino al centro comunale, nel dopo pranzo abbiamo fatto un'altra attività, e alle 15 siamo andati con la nostra guida, Silwia, in giro per Białystok .

      Tra triangoli, vespe e pizzoccheri

      Oggi abbiamo iniziato la preparazione vera e propria delle attività che faremo con i bambini settimana prossima.
      Io sono nel "Team Triangolo" (nome ovviamente non scelto da noi lol) con Nataly, Temur, Adrian, Elene e Javi.
      Abbiamo pensato a delle attività creative e di conoscenza delle nostre nazioni.

      Tornati a casa, ho cucinato i pizzoccheri 😍
      Mateusz e Nataly mi hanno persino aiutato e alla fine hanno apprezzato! Direi che possiamo contarla come vittoria di oggi 🎉

      Stasera serata tranquilla in casa, io e Nataly abbiamo avuto uno dei nostri "silent party" ovvero... a letto alle 22.30 😂

      Poland: Bialystok

      Just a quick overnight stop and our first impressions of Poland were very different to what I was expecting! I had an image of Poland being just another cheap, run down Eastern European country. Well, yes, it is cheap, but quite the contrary otherwise! Poland has some incredible countryside from forests to farmlands and really had a SA feel to it (probably aided by the great weather we were experiencing here too!). The houses are all really well kept and the farms immaculate! On our way to this city, we passed again close to Belarus and went through parts of what remains of the oldest forest in Europe (The Bialowieza Forest). It was in this area that I saw an actual wild EURASIAN WOLF!!!!😁😁😁 Such a rare and lucky occurrence with almost no one I know being able to boast the same claim! It was however very fleeting (it ran across the road in front of me from 1 side of the forest to the other), so sadly Emz didn't get a chance to see it either.😔
      Bialystok was a nice, non touristy city with a small but nice old town and it was definitely worth staying the night. We were also shocked at how cheap everything was. Poland is by far the cheapest country we have stayed in up to this point. Things were definitely looking up in Poland!☺️      Read more

      Arrivo!

      Finalmente arrivata!!
      Anche se il treno mi ha fatto arrivare 2 ore dopo, eccomi a Bialystok!
      Tutta la stanchezza e lo sconforto dovuti al ritardo del treno e alla simpaticissima bigliettaia che mi parlava solo Polacco sono spariti dopo che sono entrata in casa. Mi hanno accolto subito a braccia aperte. In casa con me ci sono Nataly, che è anche in stanza con me, una ragazza ucraina di 26 anni, Petros, armeno, di 21 anni, Mateusz, polacco, 24 anni, e Javier, 22 anni, spagnolo.

      Abbiamo anche scoperto un puzzle da 3000 pezzi in camera di Mateusz e Javier 😍😂

      Verso le 17 sono arrivati gli altri, che però conoscerò meglio domani, abbiamo fatto due chiacchere e poi Joanna li ha accompagnati nel loro appartamento.

      Poi abbiamo deciso di uscire, fare un giro in centro 🥶❄️, e fermarci in un ristorante georgiano a mangiare, così, perché ci andava 🇬🇪

      Non poteva mancare un pub per finire la serata, guardando Italia Polonia, pallavolo maschile 🏐... dico solo che ero l'unica a festeggiare in tutto il pub 🤭🎉 (in realtà ho contagiato anche Nataly e Petros, erano felici anche loro!)

      Gli ultimi kilometri sulle rotaie sono stati stancanti e difficili, ma l'arrivo è stato dolce 🥰

      Krakow to Bialystok via Warsaw

      Left Krakow in the morning; a leisurely change of trains in Warsaw. Impressed with Warsaw’s modern, spacious and impeccably clean station which was more like an airport. Arrived in the city of Bialystok at teatime; for an overnight stay. Walked through the town at twilight. A grand wide Main Street almost all laid out for walking. Families out walking - it felt like eating out night for families. In Britain this would be a sea of parked cars.Read more

      Primo giorno di attività, al centro ELEOS, questo pomeriggio :)

      I bambini all'inizio erano un po' spaventati, perché non avevano mai incontrato volontari da fuori Białystok, ma poi ci siamo divertiti un sacco 🥰

      Serata tranquilla a casa, abbiamo fatto un po'di spesa, domani inizieremo alle 10 non lontano dall'appartamento.

      Kurzvisite in Kaunas

      Heute fahren wir mal 3. Klasse. Innerlich hatten wir uns schon auf Holzsitze eingestellt. Sie sind dann durchaus hart aber immerhin mit Polster bezogen.
      Von Daugavpils nach Litauen wollen mit uns nur noch wenige andere Fahrgäste. Richtung Vilnius füllt sich unser Zug allerdings kontinuierlich. Selbst an kleinsten Haltepunkten mitten im Wald steigen noch Leute zu.

      Die Umsteigezeit in Vilnius nutzen wir für ein paar Bilder vom sehr sauberen Bahnhof und einen Besuch im "Pfannkuchenrestaurant".

      Weiter geht's nach Kaunas, wo wir 3 Stunden Zeit für eine kleine Stadtbesichtigung haben, deren Abschluss ein Besuch in der Bahnhofskneipe ihr Ende fand. Dort wurden wir von einem Einheimischen auf die hohe Kriminalität hingewiesen und das wir unsere Wertsachen nicht offen sichtbar tragen sollten. Echt nett von ihm - in Kreuzberg hätte er sicher Schnappatmung bekommen.

      Während wir seit Finnland auf Breitspur unterwegs waren, geht es nun auf Normalspur weiter in Richtung Polen. Hier ist die einzige Möglichkeit, auf der Schiene in's Baltikum zu gelangen - und das auch nur am Wochenende.

      Den Grenzübertritt bemerken wir sofort, denn die Geschwindigkeit unseres bis dahin flotten Zuges veringert sich auf 60 und die Schienenstöße sind deutlich spürbar. Zusätzlich verabschiedete sich das Internet. Wir kommen der Heimat näher.

      In Białystok beziehen wir schnell unsere Zimmer und versuchen noch was zu Essen zu bekommen. Kein Problem in der knapp 300.000 Einwohner-Stadt, die niemand von uns vorher auf dem Zettel hatte. Die Altstadt ist sehr belebt und präsentiert sich ordentlich herausgeputzt.      Read more

      Tak sa konecne ozyvam aj ja. Asi ste si vsimli, ze cestou blogovala Rebeka. Tak teraz opat ja. Celkovo mozem konstatovat, ze nasa dnesna put mala "bardzo dinamicni charakter" ;-). Hlavne ak odhliadnem od nasledujucich faktov:
      1. Poliaci nevedia, co je mimourovnova krizovatka, preto sa v pravidelnych intervaloch strieda maximalna povolena rychlost 100 (cesta) a 70 (pri pretinani dvoch ciest). A to az prilis casto ... Nakoniec sa ale vacsinou prepracujete k ceste pre motorove vozidla s povolenou 120-tkou alebo dokonca k dialnici so 140-tkou.
      2. Cesty su lemovane foto-radarmi. Visia vsade popri ceste ako take vtacie budky, striedaju sa zlte a sive.
      3. Cele Polsko je jedno stavenisko, vsade stavaju nove cesty. Takze za par rokov tu bude radost jazdit.
      4. Obchvat Varsavy, ktory je samozrejme tiez staveniskom, nas stal zdrzanie 58 minut ... ale aspon sme stretli partiu slovakov iducich na aute z hlohoveckou SPZ-tkou a cez otvorene okienko pokecali. Potom sme si vsimli, ze oni isli dalej juznym obchvatom Varsavy, t.j. asi smerovali na hranicny prechos Brest. Ten je najvytazenejsi, takze my pre kratsie cakacie doby valime smerom k prechodu Bobrovniki - Berestovica.
      5. Zdrzal nas aj dazd za Varsavou, ale zase sme boli odmeneni naozaj paradnou dvojitou duhou.
      6. Hoci mame pekne ubytovanie (a okrem nas je tu este partia fanusikov na aute so zilinskou SPZ), nevaria tu a pocas hodinoveho putovania sme nasli iba tri restiky, z toho dve boli zavrete a v jednej sa nedalo platit ani kartou ani euracmi. Hlavne ze sme naratali 6 otvorenych lekarni, 4 otvorene predajne specialneho alkoholu a asi 10 minimarketov. To ze sme pri tom do nitky zmokli uz bola iba ceresnicka na torte. Takze sme teraz dojedli schokobrotcheny a hladni ideme spat.

      No a este jedno pozorovanie ... Poliaci su asi z Marsu, lebo na vsetkych (teda aspon skoro na vsetkych) autach maju antenku ;-). A ja som si myslel, ze tak putuju iba za hranicami, aby usetrili za mobil.
      Takze ideme pomaly spat po dnesnych 856 km. Mame dost obavy zo zajtrajsku, nakolko aktualne sa na nasom prechode caka 5 hodin!!! (update od colnikov: cakalo sa 7 hodin). Nikde sa neda zistit, ci sa to tyka aj specialnej lajny pre fanusikov, ktora by mala byt zriadena. Kazdopadne poslali sme uz vopred elektronicky nejaky online migracny formular a chystame sa do fanusikovskej a zelenej lajny (cervena su komplikacie). Kedze nas caka 6 hodin cesty (necelych 400 km), ak by sme na hraniciach stvrdli 5 hodin, mame co robit, aby sme vobec stihli zapas s nasimi bratmi. Takze chceme vyrazit uz o piatej rano, tak dobru noc a drzte palce!      Read more
