      Odemira

      Für's erste stand heute malwieder Großeinkauf auf dem Programm.
      So erledigt, Kühlschrank gut gefüllt und für die nächsten Tage genug 🍷 und 🍺 on Bord 😆.
      Es kann also lustig weiter gehen 😉
      Aber so weit sind wir garnicht gekommen.

      Der kleine ursprüngliche, portugiesische Ort Odemira hat es uns angetan.
      Er liegt am Rande des Alentejano Naturparks, eingebettet in den Bergen am Fluss "Rio Mira" .
      Hier suchen wir uns ein Plätzchen und lassen uns einfach treiben.
      Spazieren durch das alte kleine Städtchen, es ist so ländlich und friedlich hier, ursprünglicher kann man Portugal nun wirklich nicht erleben.
      Hübsche kleine, steinige Gassen und alte Häuschen mit roten Dächern, an dem die Wäsche zum Trocken baumelt.
      Manchmal blöcken Schafe 🐑 am Hang und Ziegen 🐐 bimmeln mit ihren Glöckchen.
      Irgendwie fühl ich mich wie Heidi, in ihrem Bergdorf, nur der Peterle fehlt.😄

      Wandern noch bis zum Denkmal des singenden Alentejano, der Cante Coral Alentejano(Chor), wurde 2014 als UNESCO Kulturerbe der Menschheit eingestuft.

      First day completed. Brisk headwind was challenging especially for the first hour or two. The windmills should have been a clue. surprisingly wild coastline. Lots of surf dudes in bombed out campervans. My gears playing up a bit but littoralbykes near Odemira did us proud.Read more

      Saimos do camping e fomos para a praia de Odeceixe, onde encontramos um local para parar a van com vista para o mar.
      Depois de tirarmos varias fotos, descemos para a praia, que também é um rio e em um pedaco os dois se encontram. Vimos muitas vans parada do outro lado do rio, um ponto famoso para acampar.
      A agente andou bastante na praia e saimos por outro lado, que era uma praia de nudismo! A galera nao deve ter gostado da gente atravessando de roupa! Hehe
      Depois de tomarmos um refri na van com nossa vista pro mar seguimos em direção ao norte e acabamos parando na praia da ilha de pessegueiros, um local bem bonito com uma construção romana na ilha e um forte na praia.
      Continuamos rumo ao norte e paramos no Lidl para comprar nosso almoço, que foi feito embaixo de uma arvore ao lado de um rio que achamos no caminho. Apos o almoço seguimos até o parque natural arrabidas, no camping do outão, mas estava lotado e acabamos no camping picheleiros, longe do mar, numa vaga um pouco desnivelada, mas foi tranquilo para dormir.
      Jantamos macarrão com atum e bebemos um vinho antes de dormir.

      Crazy Weather

      The wind is merciless and hits my bike here directly on the coast almost unhindered and pushes it backwards. Too bad I want to go this way and there's a strong wind for the next few days. 😊
      The only thing that helps is to downshift. Music lifts my mood and makes me feel like I'm doing a power exercise.

      The weather forecast is not a reliable aid to decision-making at the moment. Normally you can predict rain and showers a few hours in advance. At least the weather radar has always been reliable here in the past.
      With this in mind, I try to plan the next two days and create an hour-based timetable between the wet phases. My three meteorological sources give me three different answers. All forecast a mix of rain, thunderstorms and drizzle. 😂
      The Portuguese civil defence sends me a short message warning of storm surges in my region. 😬

      In the end, I just set off - with the chair-dancing strategy: make fast progress between the villages and check each time in the villages how the weather will develop.
      The gloomy forecasts do not match my own observations, because the sky is overcast but so thin that I can see the sun shining through now and then.

      Sure, it drizzles from time to time, but it's not as bad as forecast.

      Heute einen kleinen Ausflug nach Odemira und Umgebung gemacht. Sehr schöne Straße runter an den Fluss Mira, der bei Milfontes ins Meer mündet.

      Achtung: Dieser Platz ist zu erreichen, indem man im Kreisverkehr nach links rausfährt. Abzweigung nach rechts führt zu einem kleineren SP direkt am Ort Odemeira.
      Kostenloser, ausgewiesener Top-Stellplatz auf einem geschotterten Parkplatz mit Müllentsorgung. Super Aussicht auf das Meer und tolle Wandermöglichkeiten auf den Klippen. Geniale Sonnenuntergänge, die regelmäßig von Einheimischen besucht werden. Der Strand liegt ca. 200 m steil bergab. Polizei patroulliert 1-2 mal täglich. Das kleine Dorf Odemeira ist fußläufig ca. 500 m entfernt und bietet Restauration, Strand und Surfschule.
      Da meine Fz-Batterie ihren Geist aufgab, fuhr ich in eine ca. 15 km entfernte Ortschaft (nachdem ich das Fz mit den Aufbaubatterien überbrückt hatte) und ließ mir dort eine Neue einbauen (190 €). Da der Chef nicht wußte was diese kostet ließ er mich vertrauensvoll ohne Legitimation meinerseits von dannen ziehen und gab mir zu verstehen, das er mir vertraut und ich in den kommenden Tagen zum Bezahlen vorbei kommen sollte.
      Dies wollte ich so schnell als möglich erledigt wissen und deshalb verließen wir diesen pardiesischen Platz in Richtung Figueira.      Read more
