      Tag 3 - St. Anne Marine Park

      April 3 on the Seychelles ⋅ 🌙 30 °C

      Wir sind mit dem Glasbodenboot zum St. Anne Marine Park und sahen Delfine. Wir machten bei mehreren Inseln halt und konnten dort Schnorcheln gehen. Anschliessend gings auf die Insel Cerf zum BBQ am Strand und zu den Riesen-Schildkröten.Read more

      Gänsehaut

      Ich habe Gänsehaut. 🙏🏼

      9:10 Uhr Wir haben den Anker eingeholt und fahren in den Hafen. Die Einreiseformalitäten haben wir abgeschlossen. Die Mitarbeiter der Behörde haben einen kurzen Check an Bord gemacht, selbst in unseren Kabinen waren sie und haben in unsere Bilgen geschaut, um anschließend all unsere Papiere zu kontrollieren und unsere Pässe. Jetzt werden wir im Hafen unsere Einreisestempel bekommen….

      20:00 Uhr Collin my friend, i miss you. 😔

      Wir haben so in den Tag gelebt. In EdenIsland. ..“kein authentisches Bild von Mahé und den Seychellen“.. Collin ist mit der Fähre nach Hause gefahren, er kommt Mittwoch früh zurück, mit der halb 9 Fähre. Collin war gesundheitlich ganz schön angeschlagen. Er brauchte seine Familie.
      Ich habe ganz oft darüber nachgedacht, dass Collin auf Praslin zu Hause ist, nicht zu vergleichen mit der Größe unserer Großstadt, mit der Energie, auch nicht mit unseren Reisen…. Für ihn hat dieses Abenteuer, glaube ich, noch einmal einen ganz anderen Stellenwert, als für uns.
      Es ist so schön, wie wir uns verstehen, ohne eine gemeinsame Sprache zu haben. 💝

      Wir waren am frühen Abend noch im Supermarkt, haben uns Käse und Brötchen und frische rote und grüne Paprika und Tomaten gekauft. Es roch in unserer Küche wie in einem Deli.

      ..“Sitzung abgelaufen“, wir lachen, das mit dem Internet ist gar nicht so leicht, „ihr habt 3G?“, nach 9 Wochen..

      📷 ..ich habe gefragt, ob ich ein Foto machen darf.. ..Collin lachte, sagte sinngemäß, Souvenir, Souvenir.. Ich glaube, Collin lernt ein wenig „Leichtigkeit“, wir, ein wenig „slowlyslowly“.

      Mahé • Seychelles

      August 5, 2023 on the Seychelles ⋅ ⛅ 26 °C

      Nach 47 Tagen im indischen Ozean haben wir heute die Insel Mahé auf den Seychellen erreicht.

      Land kam um 04:00 Uhr in Sicht, jetzt warten wir auf die Einreiseformalitäten und liegen mit Anker vor der Hauptstadt Victoria.

      Schiff und Crew sind unbeschadet durch die Gewalten des Ozeans gesegelt und nur 5 Tage von 47 sind wir mit Motor gefahren.
      Die giftigen und gefährlichen Tiere und Pflanzen haben uns auch nichts anhaben können auf den verlassenen Inseln und Atollen auf dem Weg.

      Kleine Planänderung an meiner Route, die Seychellen sind so schön, dass der Skipper sich für eine mehrtägige Rundfahrt durch das Inselparadies entschieden hat. Ich bin dabei und werde nach der Seychellen-Rundfahrt in drei Wochen von der VAVA-U steigen und wieder nach Deutschland zurückkehren.

      Meer

      November 12, 2023 on the Seychelles ⋅ ☁️ 27 °C

      Wir sind vollzählig und es kann losgehen. Die eine Nacht auf dem Boot in der Marina hat mir gereicht. Ein kurzer Trip in die Stadt auch.

      Ich kann es kaum erwarten aufs Meer zu kommen und mich endlich in den Indischen Ozean zu tunken.
      Den Hafen im Rücken grinse ich im Kreis und meine Augen füllen sich mit salzigem Wasser von mir.

      Heute nur ein kleines bisschen weiter. Das Wasser so herrlich warm. Auch wenn ich meine Füße selten bedecke und barfuß zu jeder Jahreszeit im Meer bin, für das Ganzkörpereintauchen brauche ich eine Menge Wärme und jajaja, die habe ich nun.

      Die zweite Nacht auf dem Boot. Liege unter dem Sternenhimmel und lasse mich in den Schlaf schaukeln … bis das Partyboot nebenan aufdreht 😅

      Around the islands of the Seychelles

      Back on the Le Champlain and greeted warmly by crew who have had a torrid time with the charter. We found it quite moving and happy to reconnect with them.

      Sainte Anne Marie island is a national park, hot and tropical. We walk up a steep path with no steps, boulders roots and in places an unmade path. The view is spectacular. We come back soaked from perspiration. Very large tortoises are everywhere wandering through the forest where we walk. We also see a tortoise nursery and a green gecko.

      First nights are special wonderful food - steak with foie gras, lobster followed by crème brûlée and washed down with wonderful French red wine. I realise I have seriously under packed for formal dinners. Need to check out op shops more carefully.      Read more

      Boat trip to St Anne Marine Park

      Today was our pre-booked boat trip to Sainte Anne Marine Park and neighbouring islands 🏝. We were due to be picked up at 9.30am and were ready and waiting in reception. However, our driver didn't turn up until 9.50am, by which time we were very hot and a bit panicky as our boat was due to leave Victoria, a good 20-minute drive away! When he did arrive, he said he was late because he couldn't find us - apparently, he'd been up and down the hill several times before he spotted the sign for Cap Confort!

      Luckily, we got to the boat at the same time as the minibus 🚐 bringing the other 16 people who were on our trip. We met Maria from the tour company and paid the €150 balance for the trip. We then boarded the boat and were introduced to our skipper, Kristoffer, and his mate, Salvio. We were soon on our way to our first stop in Sainte Anne Marine Park. We observed the fish through the glass bottom of the boat. Kristoffer explained to us that 90% of the coral was destroyed in the 2004 tsunami. Thankfully, it is recovering well now. We threw some bread 🍞 over the side, which attracted lots of bigger fish 🐟. They were very difficult to photograph 📸, but you get the idea! 😀      Read more

      Long Island and Round Island

      After feeding the fish 🐟, we had 40 minutes to snorkel. Despite the damage to the reef, we saw loads of different varieties of fish. Back in the boat (with some difficulty, I have to say!), we moved on to Round Island. There, we had an hour and a half to swim and relax. The water is shallow enough to walk across to Long Island - a rather surreal experience!Read more

      Moyenne Island

      February 14, 2020 on the Seychelles ⋅ ☀️ 30 °C

      Vormittags wanderten wir über die Insel und nachmittags ging es wieder zum Schnorcheln. Phantastisch. In dieser Woche haben wir herrliche Fische, Blumen und Tiere gesehen und jede Menge Riesenschildkröten. Ein Beach ist schöner als der andere. Hinter jeder Ecke wartet der nächste schöne und einsame Strand. Abends ging es nach Mahe. Schade, dass wir morgen früh wieder von Bord gehen und 1 Woche Urlaub schon vorbei ist. Der Service an Bord war sehr gut und das Essen phantastisch. Der Koch kommt von den Seychellen und zum Dinner gab es jeden Tag 5 Gänge.Read more

      Dopo sei giorni di navigazione siamo arrivati a Victoria! Fa molto strano vedere tutto questo verde e la conformazione di queste isole, centro abitato, marina, bar, supermercati..
      La navigazione si è rivelata molto tranquilla, abbiamo sempre trovato mare piatto, da un lato piacevole, dall’altro questo comporta pochissimo vento. Io e Andrea eravamo la coppia della notte, con il nostro ‘watch’ notturno da mezzanotte alle 4 di mattina. Nonostante il poco vento la corrente per di più a favore ci teneva a una velocità media di 7 nodi, e ci ha permesso di arrivare un giorno prima rispetto alla tabella di marcia. Subito al nostro arrivo veniamo accolti dal gommone della dogana che in 10’ sbriga tutte le pratiche necessarie, ci indicano poi il nostro posto in marina, dove con non poche difficoltà riusciamo a ormeggiare, qui ci fermeremo per una settimana circa. Che strano questo rollio che manca, erano circa 3 mesi che non ormeggiavamo ad un molo.Read more

      Seychelles closed the port because of Coronavirus.

      So a large barge arrived to refuel us. We hear that later tonight there will be some extra crew and supplies to arrive. NCL has run out of lettuce, spinach, oranges and other food supplies.
