Um unser Heimweh nach den schönen Schweizer Berge zu lindern, nahmen wir die Seilbahn von Sentosa Island zum Mount Faber. Am Strand von Sentosa genossen wir einen kühlen Drink und dann fanden wir auf Mount Faber einen wunderschönen Ausblick und einen weiteren Merlion (insgesamt gibt es 5 in ganz Singapur).Read more

A Fun Park .. took a tour which was OK. Just. A good example of what Singapore has to offer but geared to those with kids under 12 yo in tow really. Nice but didn't need the guide ☺

Learned about the Merlion (lion head mermaid/fish tail) saw the aquarium which was excellent, finished with a very good light/water/sound show...Read more

Trick eye museum

Trick Eye is short for ‘Trick of the eye’, which refers to an art technique that turns two-dimensional paintings into three-dimensional images through the use of optical illusions. With that, 2D paintings on the museum walls, floors and ceilings appear to pop out of the surface and come to life. We had lots of fun and it was really something unique and very different on what we have done before, I think it would be even more fun with a family or friends because you can create even better tricks. Here and there we teamed up with other groups to take a couple of couple shots.

After seeing the Merlion we walked through an Orchid-less Orchid exhibit and took this romantic photo. Then we walked further down to the Southern Most Point of Continental Asia. This is really confusing because they consider the southern most point of “continental” Asia to be a teeny tiny island off the bigger island of Singapore. 🤔 It was still cool to see and the colors were beautiful.Read more

Next we explored a bit of the museum they created for Fort Siloso and ran into some wild peacocks and peahens, including a completely white peacock. 🦚 There is so much exotic architecture here, photo included. We also got to check out the pretty awesome Butterfly and Insect Kingdom. We held butterflies that had recently hatched and met an old man iguana called Bling Bling. After leaving Sentosa Island we spent the having a barbecue at a friends and having a swim in their condo’s pool.Read more

Sentosa Island Pt 1

We got up and had a very yummy hotel breakfast. We took a “Grab” (SG Uber) to Mt Faber. We had a little walk around, took some photos, and then from Mt Faber we took a Cable Car Ride to Sentosa Island where we spent the day exploring. On the Cable Car, it started to rain and when we arrived at Sentosa Island, it was really raining, as you’d probably picture for an island. We had some Starbucks which seemed very out of place for the island while we waited out the rain. After 30 mins or so we were on our way. We took another, smaller Cable Car to check out the ginormous version Merlion Statue. According to Wikipedia, it’s a mythical creature with the head of a lion and the body of a fish that is the mascot of Singapore. We took some silly photos from the mouth and the head before we continued on.Read more

Day two was for Kaiyen - ok we had some fun also. Breakfast at Starbucks near our hotel then we used the GRAB app to get a ride to Universal Studios. The morning started with more thunder and rain but by the time we arrived it had cleared up and it was great weather - it can be hot and humid in Singapore! Some pics and video of the day and then dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe. That was something when Kaiyen was asking who is John Lennon, Billy Joel, Rod Stewart and the list went on! We provided a quick history lesson going back to Elvis with some YouTube clips of the King in his heyday. She thought it was hilarious that girls her age were discouraged from listening to Elvis “because his music was the work of the devil”...Read more

Mit der Seilbahn fuhren wir vom Mont Faber zur Insel Sentosa um das traumhafte Aquarium zu besuchen. Die Insel ist mittlerweile zur richtigen Vergnügungsinsel geworden.

In dem riesigen Aquarium konnten wir über 800 Fischarten, mehr als 200 Haiarten und unzählige Mantarochen bestaunen.

Nach einem Besuch im Hard Rock Café gingen wir noch durch die zahlreichen Geschäfte shoppen.Read more

We walked over the boardwalk to enjoy the views and have lunch, we browsed around and after a taster of the chefs vermicelli, it didn't take a lot of convincing to eat at this Michelin star restaurant. The food was divine.
