      St. Maarten

      January 19 in Sint Maarten ⋅ 🌬 26 °C

When we pulled into our berth, Norwegian Viva was across from us, with a Carnival ship behind it. After some breakfast, we headed out to see what the day would bring.

We were in Phillipsburg, capital of the Dutch side of the island. We decided to take an island taxi trip with some people from the Carnival ship. The trip took us around to the French side of the island, where we visited its capital, Marigot. We had a stop at a beach next to the Princess Juliana International Airport, where the main attraction is watching the planes land over your head. We stopped at the bar there for a bev- Diet Coke for the Mr, and a frozen margarita for moi.

There was another beach, where some "French Ladies" were seen walking on the beach- (No- I didn't take pictures.)

Despite the signs on his taxi, the driver's credit card machine was "broken." A p.i.t.a. Luckily I had enough cash to cover our fee, but the tip was minimal.

Back aboard, we had some lunch, and I did some French lessons. Then packing- not the usual catharsis because we didn't pack a lot. Dinner was fine, then the final pack-out.
