Capella DE NOSA SEÑORA DAS NEVES

      June 30, 2022 in Spain ⋅ ⛅ 59 °F

Originally a small Romanesque hermitage (13th century) with later reconstructions. Rectangular plan with a single nave, apse and sacristy. The Romanesque remains can be seen in the apse and part of the walls corresponding to the nave. It was reformed in the 15th century and the baptismal font that is still preserved is from the 16th century. Its style is defined between Galician plateresque and early Romanesque. On the façade you can see the additions of the 19th century.
In the atrium of the Sanctuary stands a beautiful CRUISER. An interesting work, of great robustness, of a certain quality and with a style typical of the area. The PLATFORM is of quadrangular step and the prismatic pedestal with its high edges molded in soft molding. The WOOD is of the classic square shape with marked lowering of the edges while the CAPITAL, solid and square in shape, is attached to the column with metal staples and is of the Ionic scheme in its Galician variant, decorated with few winged cherubs.
