      Yoga & Taco Tuesday 🌮👙🧘‍♀️🤰

      Hey Everyone, happy Tuesday 👋🏼

      Tuesday only means one thing around here…Taco Tuesday🌮🌮🌮.

      Woke up and headed to beakfast, scrambled eggs today🍳. Got into my bikini for some serious sunbathing👙😎 by the pool. Whipped out the sudoku book.

      Had lunch then headed to our teaching planning session (we have no lessons on Tuesdays) . Here is us making worksheets for the kids. Put my feet up for a quick chill on the balcony (it’s a hard life here🤣), before getting into my yoga gear🧘‍♀️.

      Headed to my rooftop yoga class before quick shower and change for Taco Tuesday baby🌮. Headed with the girls to The Hideaway restaurant, tacos here are unreal. I had three this week, here’s what the post food food baby was looking like!🤰

      Nach einem sehr üppigen Frühstück ging es für uns los zur Tauchschule. Matthias erste Tauchstunde! 😍 Aufregend! Ich weiß noch wie ich vor etwa 5 Jahren das erste mal die Schwerelosigkeit erfuhr.. 😍 Erst gab es für ihn eine Einweisung zum Equipment, dann gab es einen kurzen Test und dann ging es los in den Pool eines nahegelegenen Hotels. Währenddessen durfte ich in der Tauchschule bleiben und mich mit unserer weiteren Planung beschäftigen und mich ab und an im Meer abkühlen. Als ich kurz vorm verhungern war, es war mittlerweile 14:30, kam Matthias endlich zurück und durfte eine Mittagspause einlegen. Es gab Kottu und Cola (4,90€)😍 und der Besitzer präsentierte uns stolz sein frisch gebackenes Baby. Danach ging es für Matthias noch kurz mit einigen Schwimmübungen weiter, währenddessen machte ich mich auf den Rückweg zur Unterkunft und fing an unsere Wäsche zu waschen. #waschtag #endlichfrischeunterwäsche😁
      Als unsere komplette Wäsche, auf den Wäscheleinen der Gastgeberin, verteilt war ging es für uns zum Abendessen in die Stadt. Da wir uns gestern extrem wohl in dem kleinen Restaurant (mit nahezu local Preisen) mit Strandblick gefühlt haben, ging es für uns erneut dort hin. Als wir mitten beim Essen waren kamen die zwei deutschen, welche wir im Zug bei Ella getroffen hatten, die Treppe hoch. Also verbrachten wir einen gemütlichen Abend zu viert und dann ging es für uns wieder zurück. Wir hatten noch ein Telefondate mit dem Inder, welchen wir ebenfalls aus Ella kannten, bezüglich der Züge in Indien und den ersten Tagen in Chennai.
      Nachdem die Registrierung bei indian railway fehlgeschlagen war ging es ins Bett. Tag Ende.      Read more

      Day 37

      Taco Tuesday! 🌮👙🧽🐷

      Morning everyone it’s day 37!🫶🏼

      Started the day with a lie in (obvs I hate early mornings!) got into a bikini and headed to the beach🌊👙🏝. Here is a bts of our room🤭!!

      Chilled on the beach for a few hours sunbathing😎 and headed back for curry again for lunch!! Did some hand washing with Enna 🧼 and noticed I was tuning pretty pink!🐷 (oopsie serves me right for thinking I was better than suncream) the tan lines on my feat were really making me laugh!

      Headed to the meeting room downstairs for some lesson planning with the 5 other teachers📕. Was so much fun to plan all the lessons for the week!

      Headed to the Hideaway for Taco Tuesday! 🌮 I got fish and shrimp tacos🍤 , honestly I think the next taco I’ve ever had. Also this was such a cute restaurant - reminded me of Bali.

      Day 39

      The Cutest Halloween🎃👻💀🤍

      Hey wonderful people it’s day 39! 🫶🏼

      Kickstarted the day with a quick brekkie and headed off with the girls via tuk tuk to their surfing lesson down the road🏄‍♀️. I was happy to sit and spectate/be designated photographer 📸.

      Girls headed out to sea and I found a cute lil cafe spot and made some friends☕️🫶🏼. What a view. Headed back in the tuk tuk for a very spicy lunch 🌶 and sunbathed in the afternoon. Look at this huge monkey we saw🦍.

      There was no teaching today due to Diwali celebrations, so we had a free day! 🪔

      Got ready for the evening and headed to our rooftop for cute a Halloween vibes🎃🫶🏼. Interesting dinner tonight🍟🍝 followed by girlie chats. What a cute day 🤍      Read more

      Hangovers & Hamburgers 😵‍💫🍔💄🍝

      Hey Everyone welcome to day 53!👋🏼

      Woke up in time for a quick brekkie, only me and Pauline made it today💪, what troopers we are🫡. Massive plate today. Went back to bed before waking up just in time for lunch🍝.

      Went back to bed for more sleeping and Tik Tok time. Got ready for my last meal with all of the girls on the balcony watching one of my final sunsets🌅💄. Quick FaceTime with Silly Jabsy Boy🫶🏼🦖before heading out to Koha - our fave, for a burger and coke🍔 managed to spill mayo down my trousers obviously!! Walked home and said bye to some of the girls, and got my last photo with the group and Enna (spot my sunglass sunburn lines) which was soooo sad. 👋🏼

      Heute ging es nach dem Frühstück für uns weiter nach Unawatuna. Die Strecke betrug nur knapp 30 km und der Verkehr war sehr entspannt. Zuvor hatte uns die Besitzerin der heutigen Unterkunft einen Treffpunkt genannt (wir dachten es wäre abweichend von der Unterkunft selbst). Temple Road hieß das Ziel. Später stellten wir fest, dass wir in der Parallelstraße zum Treffpunkt waren und es anscheinend mehrere Temple Roads gab. Nachdem wir unsere Unterkunft für die nächsten (eigentlich) 5 Nächte, gefunden hatten bezogen wir diese. Das Zimmer, sowie das Bad, war recht klein, aber gemütlich. Die Besitzerin gab uns noch den Tipp zum Besuch eines Festivals, welches Abends am Tempel (unweit von uns), stattfinden sollte. Dann ging es für uns los die Gegend zu erkunden. Erster Stopp, unsere Tauchschule, da morgen Matthias's Praxisteil des Tauchkurses beginnt und wir noch ein paar organisatorische Dinge zu klären hatten. Danach ging es über den Strand ans Ende der Bucht und durch die Stadt zurück. Zwischenzeitlich stoppten wir ein paar Mal des Hungers wegen.
      Am Abend ging es für uns zum Festival, wir waren sehr früh da, deshalb konnten wir noch mit den Hunden knuffeln und bekamen sogar Tee.
      Beim Festival wurde Musik gespielt, verschiedene Tänze in verschiedenen Kostümierungen vorgeführt und es wurde ein ausgewachsener Elefant im Kostüm präsentiert. Nachdem einige Jungs sich gegenseitig mit Haken im Rücken festhielten und rumhüpften war das Festival beendet. Mittlerweile war es schon 10 Uhr und wir gingen ins Bett. Tag Ende.      Read more

      Day 41

      A Rainy Saturday 🌺🥞☔️

      Morning Everyone, welcome to day 41! 🫶🏼

      Today was the weekend, so me and the girls got the minibus to Mirissa, a beachside town about a 45 min drive from us in Unawatuna. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t on our side today, although we still had lots of fun ☔️.

      Walked along the beack for a bit, look how stunning this would be on a sunny day🌞. Found this flower on the floor 🌼 and also found an Asda in Sri Lanka who would’ve thought😭🛒.

      Walked with the girls to Shady Lane, this was unreal! Look at mine 🥞🍌🍓. This place was giving Bali vibes! Headed to the supermarket to I could top up on my mosquito armour, I have been bitten alive here🫣. This car wash packaging made me laugh - interesting🤣. Headed back for dinner, it was wraps tonight followed by games with the girls🃏, I actually came 3rd in Uno🥉. Such a fun day, night everyone! 💜      Read more

      Sunday Funday🐢🌈🌊🤙

      Hello peeps it’s Sunday! That means it’s day 42! 👋🏼

      Kick started the day early for brekkie and headed 5 mins down the road to turtle beach. Wow what a place🐢! Here’s us girls at the beach🕺🏼. There were loads of turtles just swimming around the shallow waters it was so incredible😍. Here’s me feeding them seaweed, this was a bit scary they have big mouths!!

      Spent the rest of the morning, chilling in the glorious sunshine☀️ silly me didn’t put cream on again properly🐷 oopsie poopsie. Headed back into a tuk tuk for a short ride home, and came home for curry (shock)🍛!!

      Spent the arvo chilling around the house and a face time to Silly Jabsy Boy🤙

      This was dinner vegetable kottu, followed by another entertaining watch of our security guard🫡🤣😭. What a fun weekend. Night everyone 💛xox      Read more

      Unawatuna Beach

      Ein interessanter Besuch des Fort Galle (Einheimische sagen Gowl) liegt hinter uns. Nach einer holprigen Rückfahrt zwischen gefährlich eng fahrenden Tuktuks, Motorrädern und Bussen vorbei an streng riechenden Fischhändlern müssen wir erst mal schlafen. Am Abend geht’s noch mal zum Strand von Unawatuna. Nach einem gefährlichen Badeversuch (Strömung war so heftig, dass andere Karen helfen mussten) dann verdientes leckeres Abenessen. Gegrillter Tintenfisch 🦑 und Curry mit Crabs 🦀. Tilda zur Krabbe: „Hmmmmmm (lecker), ….stinkt das.“ 😄Read more

      Hello Unawatuna🏝🥥🍳⭐️

      Hello everyone it’s day 35! 👋🏼

      Kicked off the day with brekkie 🍌followed but an introduction meeting with everyone. Chilled for the rest of the morning and had a yummy lunch 🥘.

      We then headed onto the bus for our tour of Unawatuna which is our local town - Such a beautiful place! Continued our walking tour of the town and stopped for an orange coconut water🥥. Headed back to our very very hot room 🥵 and met our two roommates. Pasta tonight for dinner🍝! Chilled with the rest of the girls before heading to bed😴💖.Read more
