      Hoch hinaus mit Juliane und Mike

      Nach einer Bootsfahrt über den Zürichsee folgten eine kurze Fahrt mit der Drahtseilbahn zur Universität und zurück.
      Dann geht es mit dem Zug und Gondel zur Bettmeralp.

      Hier wurde auf knapp 2000 Meter ohne Straßenzugang ein Ort mit etlichen Hotels und sogar ein Stausee gebaut.
      Juliane, die seit 2008 immer wieder hier arbeitet brachte uns in einer hübschen Ferienwohnung unter.
      Es gibt kleine Autos hier oben, die offensichtlich mit der Gondel oder per Hubschrauber hier hochgelangt sind.
      Die meisten werden mit Strom betrieben und bringen Touristen und ihr Gepäck zu den Hotels.

      Am nächsten Tag fahren wir mit einem Lift zum Bettmerhorn und folgen einem Grat der oberhalb der Ortschaften entlang führt.

      Von hier haben wir einen beeindruckenden Blick auf den längsten Gletscher der Alpen, den Aletschgletscher. Er fließt ein Tal entlang und vereinigt sich mit weiteren Gletschern.
      Dieser Anblick wird bald nicht mehr möglich sein. Man sieht deutlich wie die 900 Meter starke Eiszunge an Dicke und Länge verloren hat.

      Nach einem anspruchsvollen Abstieg lassen wir den Abend noch bei einem Fondue mit Blick auf die weißen Gipfel ausklingen.
      Zu guter letzt willigt Samuel ein sich von Mike unter dem beeindruckenden Sternenhimmel die Haare kürzen zu lassen.      Read more

      Eine tierische Brücke

      Am vorletzten Tag wandern wir noch zu einer beeindruckenden Hängebrücke.
      Über ihr kann man den Fluss der aus dem Gletscher entspringt überqueren.

      2 Ziegen waren ebenfalls begeistert von der Brücke und überquerten diese mehrmals. Sie waren zutraulich bis aufdringlich.
      Ein schöner Bergsee darf natürlich auch nicht fehlen.      Read more

      Europes Alps longesttt glacier

      Wylinn and Adrian to the longest glacier in the European Alps ! Melting quite fast so very lucky to have seen it . We drove 2 hours and then caught the cable cart up , which was free for me when we bought a family pass because I’m under 19 :))) We had a picnic lunch and then walked up to another look out up to some rocks :)Read more

      THE SWISS ALPS !

      So I got myself over to the mountains ! I was worried about the trains getting there but I managed pretty well🤞
      The train ride to Grindelwald was like nooo otherrrr. I have decided that this blue is my favourite colour. I sat next to a girl from Vietnam who was travelling with another Vietnamese girl that she had met by talking in Vietnamese on the phone and they had been together for the last 3 days. Her name is Khanh and she was doing uni on exchange in Madrid and we chatted the whole train ride.
      I was trying to ask the lady in the seat opposite me something so I asked if she spoke English and she said no but then started talking to me in English so I was so so confused. When she got off, Khanh proceeded to tell me that I had actually asked her if I she spoke German. Welp 🙊
      Anyway I caught the gondola up to Maennlichen and took a quick selfie because I was the only one in it and it’s not everyday you can get a photo with such ginormous mountains. I hope the gondola camera security people enjoyed watching me hold on when I went over the bumpy bits 🥰
      There were some cute cows with bells that rang when they moved and then quite a big cow as the kids playground.
      I walked from Maennlichen about an hour and a half to Kleine Scheidegg and I saw a group of 3 walkers ( who turned out to be from England and one had a daughter living in Melbourne) trying to take a self timer photo with Mount Eiger (and it was not working for them) so I offered to get one for them. They then snapped this shot of me , so here I am with Mount Eiger !
      Then also the same with these 2 girls when I walked into a cute viewpoint hut at Kleine Scheidegg, so here is me in my blue raincoat and backpack- and then a selfie with my blue bucket hat to match💙 no I did not bring any other clothes as my brain didn’t really register that it was in the mountains, there was snow, and so it would be cold? Very luckily I had a completely funny day until I got onto my train home !

      Kleine Scheidegg to Wengen hike

      Doesn't have those spectacular alpine views, but still a very pretty area to hike through. Route took me past some nice variety -- more remote stretches as well as a few farms and teeny towns. I JUST managed to beat the fog and mist rolling in, so I still got some nice views before it obscured them completely. It actually kind of added to the ambiance in the lower elevation part when it did start rolling in, gave it a neat "Wuthering Heights" vibe. (Also passed another of those little stations where local farmers put their cheese for sale and you just grab some and leave money on the honor system.)Read more

      Gindelwald to Wengen, walking in clouds!

      A beautiful hike with a great team today! After an awesome breakfast at the hotel, as well as our normal packing of some extra fruit and treats for later, we took the bus to take the train to Alpinglen, to shorten the long 6 mile climb starting in the city. Yeah, we kind of messed up our bus ride with all of us missing our stop in two groups. We all walked back to the train station then just missed our train because it took too long to buy tickets! Ok, so we finally got to Alpinglen then hiked up about 4 beautiful miles, walking in the shadow of the mighty Eiger mountain. One to the top at Kleine Scheidegg we got lunch at a restaurant then struck out for another couple of miles (hiked 7.1 miles today) to Mannlichen, then onto the Royal Walk which takes you to a crown-shaped viewing area with spectacular views of Grindelwald, the Inter-laken Valley, and the Lauterbrunnen Valley. All three! Super windy at the top! Videos? We will have to dub over the voices! Haha! Then most of us rode the gondola down to Wengen (Kevin Trimm did the punishing 2 hour decent walk!).       Von Alpe Devero nach Alpe Veglia

      Heute mal über zwei Pässe drüber. Zuerst auf eine Hochebene und einem Abstecher zum Lago Nero, der aber fast ausgetrocknet war. Aufstieg zum Scatta d'Orogna, runter in ein Tal und gleich wieder rauf zum Passo di Valtrenda. Und ein langer Weg runter nach Alpe Veglia.
      Insgesamt sechs Stunden Gehzeit, bisher die längste Etappe und auch gut anstrengend.      Read more

      Der heilige Abend

      Heute sind wir gemütlich zum Hotel Frühstücken gegangen. Danach sind wir durch den Ort, Brot gekauft zum Metzger und den Ski Pass organisiert. Sally ist ein Berg Hund. Morgen geht es zum Ski Tag Nummer 1 dazu bringt uns ein Bus zur Gondel 🚠. Und an Silvester wollen wir mit Sally in den Schnee ❄️ spazieren gehen. Kostet hin und zurück 51 CHFRead more

      Vierter Skitag

      Heute war es ziemlich bewölkt 🌥️ und die Sicht war nicht so besonders. Wir sind schön gegen den Verkehr gefahren und mussten kaum anstehen. Heute haben wir eine neue Piste entdeckt. Zwei ⚓️ Anker zur Laxeralp 1,2. Es war sehr windig und kalt. 🥶 Daher freuen wir uns heute auf eine Dusche, heute gehen wir Essen. Für Anna und Jula, Toiletten gibt es hier überall, sogar auf der kleinsten Piste.Read more

      Weihnachtsreise Bauers

      Unsere Reise beginnt in Köln um 8 Uhr. Wir kommen gut durch bis zum Gotthard Tunnel. Hier staut es sich durch eine Ampelschaltung. Wir müssen die Ausfahrt 40 nehmen eine Ausfahrt weiter. Das kostet uns über eine Stunde an Zeit. Wir sind um 17:35 in Furka mit dem Autozug gefahren, und brauchen 45 min bis wir hier sind. Die Fotos entstehen auf dem Weg zur Unterkunft und am
