    NightSledding & Fondue,Brunni, Schwyz SZ

    Night sledding in Brunni Alpthal

Brunni-Alpthal, 40 minutes from Zurich, becomes a sledding eldorado every Saturday evening. Starting at 5 p.m., the skilift is reserved for sledding. Floodlights and headlamps beam into the night. Our sledding event in the middle of the night is an awesome experience. You see the stars in the cold and clear sky. While you‘re sledding down the hill close to the snow surface, you will have an intense speed experience. In contrast to other sledding routes, our illumi- nated slope is wide. It is so wide that you even can go sledding in groups side by side. The slope is a blue slope and easy to drive.
Our offer is a very good deal. It includes the rental of a special optimized sledge for comfortable uphill transportation as well as a head light and you can go sledding the whole evening till 8 p.m.. As sledding makes you hungry as a hunter, we offer traditional swiss cheese fondue in our cozy restaurant.

    Schmitten, Switzerland

    February 7, 2018 in Switzerland ⋅ ☁️ 1 °C

Whit and I stayed for about a week in Schmitten, Switzerland with my aunt Fran (we went to Verbier for the weekend). Our highlight during this stay was hiking in the alps near to a holiday house that my mum's family stayed when they were young. Fran brought along cervala sausages for lunch and we made a fire in the snow to roast them. It was a quintessential Swiss experience.

Our other activities this week included hosting a dinner party for some old friends of my parents, eating delicious meals prepared by either Fran or Susan (Fran' s partner), and playing SkipBo (a fun card game).

Exciting family news: We welcomed our neice into the world! Gracyn Elizabeth Gresham born Feb 6, 2018, 8lbs 13oz.

    Bern, Switzerland

    May 5, 2018 in Switzerland ⋅ ☁️ 17 °C

Another fantastic day in Swizerland! A 90 minute train trip from Schwyz found us in Bern where Imelda's daughter, Jeanine, and her partner Oliver live.

With Imelda and Rische we toured this beautiful city, historic sites, including their Capitol building, got a fantastic history lesson and, of course, shopped.

We loved how our hosts insisted on stopping every hour or so for coffee, beer and a small snack. Most memorable stop was for a beer and snack at Albert Einstein's home.

Last stop was the Rose Garden obetlooking old Bern city. Ed had a chance to discuss relativity with Albert and suggest he square the value of "c" to make his theory work.

At days end Jeanine and Oliver hosted us in their home for dinner. Oliver made fantastic civiche then grilled chicken and wurst (sausage) on their apartment's deck. Wunderbar!

A fast walk to the bus stop got us back to the train station barely in time for the last train back to Schwyz and we were back just after midnight. Thank goodness for Swiss obsession with being on time.

"Wings of clarity, peace and liberty" My hope: It would be wonderfull if everyone in the world could reach this for himself. And so, all the people of our planet would change to "blue and white". Maybe this painting is the beginning, like a catalyst."

    "Dear Heidi and Peter
I’m really so happy for the painting from you. I call it „Wings of liberty“.
Thank you so much for it. Thank you also so much for this beautiful project you started.
It’s a wonderful thing and I am so happy to be a part of it.
