      Good times in Kaohsiung

      October 15, 2023 in Taiwan ⋅ ☁️ 29 °C

After leaving my less than ideal accomodation in Kenting I immensely looked forward to the Hotel in Kaohsiung. K. Is the second largest city in Taiwan and features one of the most important harbors in asia. Journey was smooth as usual and when I arrived at the hotel I had to spend some time before I could check in, they had an amazing lounge area with a popcorn and coffee machine that offered free popcorn and coffee, really good tasting coffee too and lots of variation... Wow... Certainly the best service I found on the isle so far and at auch a great price. About 35€ per night. Awesome, my room is great too, great bathroom, hot shower, bed seems very comfy, everything I need. So much better than the accomodation I had to endure the last two nights and only slightly more expensive. At least I've learned something for the future, never trust booking.com reviews of guesthouses that offer bunk beds, those often receive extremely good reviews for very low standards from bunk bed booking Backpackers. Wow, alliteration Level: master. In the future I look at standardised Hotel Stars as well and check Google reviews too. So happy with this hotel, I even have my own private Moskito guardian, a tiny Asian Gecko in the room. Cute xD, See the attached movie, btw I don't mind the dust, the room is super clean otherwise and that area is just super hard to reach with normal methods, speaking from experience. Geckos don't enter your bed and are seen as a blessing in the house in many parts of Asia, especially South Asia as they will catch moskitos and other hazardous insects.
