      Take me to church

      October 15, 2023 in Thailand ⋅ ☁️ 27 °C

      Pai

      February 15, 2018 in Thailand ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C

Read more

      Cooking School

      February 18, 2018 in Thailand ⋅ ⛅ 20 °C

Katrin: Tom Yam Soup with Tofu
Fabian: Galangal Coconut Soup with Shrimps
      Springrolls
      Papayasalad
      Yellow Curry with Shrimps/ Tofu
      Fried Chicken/Tofu with Cashew Nuts
      Mango with Sticky Rice

      Chiang Mai

      April 14, 2016 in Thailand ⋅ ☀️ 40 °C

Feeling a little delicate we flew up north to Chiang Mai. Nats dad picked us up from the airport, he has a minibus so it seated all 6 of us plus her 3 brothers. We arrived at the apartment... its lovely! Nicer than the last one with a massive pool - no city view though haha

We got changed really to celebrate new year again. Nats dad has a pickup tuck so we all got in the back with 2 barrels of water and water pistels (we went and got blocks of ice too) ready to drive through the town centre. It was heaving and had the biggest most fun water fight ever!

      Party time!

      April 14, 2016 in Thailand ⋅ 🌙 37 °C

Returning from the water fight we were freezing cold.. despite it being 40°!

Had a dip in the pool and relaxing time, then got showered and ready for nats dad and brothers to pick us up. We went to a lovely restaurant.. In Thailand everyone shares all their meals so everyone gets to try all meals. For 10 people the total bill came to £80.. not bad eh?!
The fish is served with the heads still on.. I thought is was odd!

After the meal we headed out to a night club. Jack and I forgot to take our ID so initially they wouldn't let us in however Nats brother sorted this for us. Had a really good night apart from some silly lads had a fight and smashed all the glasses on the table, which I moved out the way but glass went in my sandals so I cut my feet open! First aider cleaned me up and I got a free cocktail haha and my feet okay!

      ... and relax!

      April 15, 2016 in Thailand ⋅ ☀️ 37 °C

Today Nat and Jack have gone to see Nats grandparents with the family so I said I would stay and relax by the pool today.

Not going to lie, lying in bed hearing Nat and Jack leave at 7am after getting in at 3 was a good feeling hahaa. Amm also stayed with me at the apartment. Amm and I ventured to the local shopping mall for some lunch... There was a little indoor food market there with some amazing things that I hadn't got a clue what they were! Glad Amm was with me to order my chicken and rice lol

We got back and had lunch followed by me sunbathing and swimming and Amm going to the gym!

We went out for another lovely meal for tea!

      Such a chilled lovely day!

      Thai Massage Course Level 1

      October 29, 2016 in Thailand ⋅ 🌙 23 °C

This week has been very long and interesting. Thai massage level 1 course now completed! Bethany and I were the only ones in this weeks class as they run them every Monday to Friday. So we both had lots and lots of practice on each other and then on our instructor Jang. She was very helpful and excellent at correcting us as we went along. A typical Thai massage runs 2 hours long and I'm pretty sure I punished my knees into a grade 1 ACL tear from all of the kneeling. We were honoured to attend a once a year teacher appreciation ceremony that we chanted ancient Pali verses and bowed to the teachers and all of life's teachers as (symbolized in this altar) as well as given flowers to place on an altar to show respect. Contrary to western style massage, traditional Thai massage does not primarily work with the physical body but rather with the energy body of man. Its background can be traced back to India with an Ayurvedic understanding that "wind" or "chi" has invisible lines that flow through the body. If there is a blockage along the lines somewhere an ailment is presented in the according like fashion. We covered the full body as well as some cool stretching techniques all working on a large mat on the floor with different pillows to flop you around as needed. When I was getting treated by Beth I would slowly drift off to sleep but then a short time would pass and I would have to wake up and then work so it became difficult for me. Also Beth had some tummy troubles but is on the mend these past couple of days. The pharmacies here are very helpful and can pretty much get you anything you need. Now that the serious part of the trip is over we are off to Pai to party out! And by partying out I mean sitting by a pool complaining about the wifi and having a competition to see who gets dehydrated first.Read more

      Weihnachten Chiang Mai

      December 25, 2021 in Thailand ⋅ ☀️ 24 °C

Weihnachtsfeiertag erneut beim Italiener verabredet.Read more
