Topgolf Bangkok

Decided to trek across the city for a couple of hours at Topgolf. Took the train part way and a Grab the rest of the way, was over an hour each way. We tried this before in Vegas so we were looking forward to this and it was a lot of fun. We also experienced a couple of great dinners last night and tonight. Last night, we went to the Smokin Pug BBQ. Chris had ribs, which she said was the best she can remember eating, I had the Brisket, and it was also fabulous. Tonight, we went to an out of the way pizza place that had great reviews, and it didn't disappoint. Chef Bing Pizza was about a 35-minute walk but was well worth it. It was a thin crust, but just the right amount of crispy, so it didn't sag when you lifted a piece. Last night, we also went to listen to some live music where a couple of great bands were playing. The waitress really liked Chris, lol. More and more Chinese New Year decorations are also popping up.Read more

Back in Bangkok for more fun

After an amazing trip to Sri Lanka, Wednesday started out with an 11 Km scouting hike with KC. I'm always happy to go hiking, and Thailand has some awesome hiking trails. After a quick snack and a couple beers, it was off to run with the Bangkok Harriettes.

BH - Another fun trail with the Bangkok Harriettes. Our 81 year old hare Ambrose, kept us guessing on this 8 km scurry around town. Just goes to show you that you are never too old. Well done!! https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/4227…

Thursday turns out is a no hash day during the week of a Full Moon hash, so opting to go out for another hike. Was 11 Kms of scouting, will be an excellent future 8 Km hash trail. In the evening, I enjoyed an excellent Korean BBQ with some of my Seoul Bruddahs Boob-a-Lube, Virginia Slim, and Rawhide.

BFMH3 - After hashing in Bangkok off and on since 1998, and although it started in the early 2004, I have finally managed to be in town for a Bangkok Full Moon hash. It was an excellent jaunt through town in the dark, and we had many visitors here getting ready for the Mekong Indochina Hash next week. Good times for sure. https://www.relive.cc/view/vXvLY28ND1O

After a month of continuous hashing, and 21 trails in less than a month . . . I finally took a day off and skipped the Bangkok H3 to catch up on some much needed sleep,

S2H3 - Back on trail again with the Siam Sunday H3. Things started out a little crazy, but after searching for a long while, we managed to find the paper. From there on out, it was all pretty good shiggy. BMH3 - After last weeks trip to Sri Lanka on the Monday, it was back to the Bangkok Monday hash this week. We had lots of visitors on this one, in preparation for the Train Rumble to Chiang Mai, so the pack was at least three times the normal size. Although trail was a little short, it was full of twists and turns that kept it exciting the whole way. Sine Mark & Isabelle were leaving, we decided to get out of cloudy and cold Vietnam.
We're back in Bangkok and enjoying sunny Thailand. Probably get some medical checkups while we're here. Anna has already been back to her favorite masseuse in town, and I'm finally learning to look right first before crossing the street.Read more

Erster Tag auf der Baustelle

Der Vertreter holte mich früh am Hotel ab und fuhr mich zum Kunden auf die Baustelle.
Dort wurde das kleine System "provisorisch" aufgestellt. Denn es stellte sich heraus, dass noch eine neue Halle gebaut wird in der das System später mal stehen soll. Damit aber die Vertragskonditionen eingehalten werden, wurde vereinbart vorab eine Inbetriebnahme und Abnahme zu machen. Bedeutet aber auch, dass sicher in Zukunft nochmal ein Job für die Firma hier anstehen wird, wenn das System final aufgestellt wird.
Zum Mittagessen gab es endlich thailändisch essen. Aber ehrlich gesagt war ich zuvor sehr skeptisch was mich erwarten würde. Letztlich stellte es sich aber als sehr lecker heraus. Aber extrem scharf. Die Schärfe lag sprichwörtlich in der Luft. Wir aßen in der Betriebskantine, was ein befestigter Pavillon im Freien war. Jedesmal als der Koch die Flüssigkeit mit dem Chili in den heißen Topf schüttete verdampfte sie und er bekam einen Hustenanfall. Kurze zeit später auch alle die an den Tischen saßen.

Am Nachmittag teste ich den Pool vom Hotel und zog ein paar Bahnen. Ausser mir tat das hier keiner. Am Abend zog es mich ins hoteleigene Chinarestaurant.Read more

Letzte Nacht kam mein Kollege aus Deutschland an und für mich stand der letzte Tag auf der Baustelle an. Viel gab es nicht mehr zu tun. Sodass ich im Prinzip nur noch alles übergab und meine Sachen packte.

Zum Mittagessen fuhren wir in ein kleines Lokal um den Abschluss noch einmal gebührend zu "feiern". Es gab landestypische Spezialitäten. Es wurde für alle bestellt. Die verschiedenen Speisen wurden auf den Tisch gestellt und jeder nahm sich nach belieben. Dazu ein kühles Singha. Das war toll und wieder total lecker.Read more

POWERLINES OF THAILAND. This time i witness this in Chiangmai too. You may ask yourself how this is possible that this system seems to work well in Thailand. I would advise that you keep your distance from any suspicious looking cables you may come across during your stay.
You need to be well aware that during the rainy season between July and October, torrential rains are to be expected and this may cause some concerns.Read more
Ahmed Shaheem I've seen spaghetti cabling like this in India like this but not as bad. I wonder if there are fires and electrocutions as a result of this.
