      Plan über Plan :-)

      December 30, 2023 in Thailand

Isch aber wüki uh chillig gsi i dere Hitz chli Bootfahre.
Haha mir sind mal wieder ine Tourifalle gheit😂😂😂 jänu de Tag isch glich super gsi und mir hend u viel gse😊
Es Highlight het aber no uf eus gwarted. Mir sind uf e Rooftopbar de Sunneuntergang go luege, de Usblick isch gigantisch gsi😍😊

      Ao Nang, Part 2. 29th January 2023

      January 29, 2023 in Thailand ⋅ ⛅ 28 °C

Here's part 2 from Sunday's shots around Ao Nang, and some of the people and scenes I'd particularly like to record.
(I've shot literally thousands of photos, so what gets onto this site is just a small selection.)Read more

      Saturday night in Khao San

      December 17, 2022 in Thailand ⋅ ⛅ 24 °C

      Ao Nang, 3rd day, Part 1. 27/01/2023

      January 28, 2023 in Thailand ⋅ 🌙 24 °C

      Part 1:
Another lovely morning, and mixed afternoon/evening.
This morning was taken up with another boat tour; this time around Phang Nga Bay within the Bay of Thailand. The tour took in a few things; the highlight being to visit the island of Khao Ping Kan (the 'James Bond island' featured in the film The Man With The Golden Gun.
It was a long journey there and back, but well worth it. A cracking day out, which also included a longtail boat ride through the mangrove swamps, a cave for canoeing, lunch at the floating village at Koh Panyee, another temple complex within a cave (plus obligatory monkeys) called Suwankhuha, and a visit to a waterfall (dried up, so not much to see).

BG Pathum United - Lampang FC

      October 29, 2022 in Thailand ⋅ ⛅ 28 °C

      Fun Adventure

      October 23, 2022 in Thailand ⋅ ☁️ 88 °F

My (Anna) massage helped my pain, so I had a much better day. Went to breakfast and tried a coconut 🥥 expresso drink. Interesting and yummy. The lady was kind and gave me a couple of passion fruit when we were leaving. We went on a boat ride exploring the canal. Went through a couple of locks. Met a family from Germany 🇩🇪, one from Costa Rica 🇨🇷, one from Columbia, and a single guy from China 🇨🇳 who works for Tik Tok. We bought a couple of new food items to try at the floating market."(not really floating)
Explored Wat Arun. The boat ride was a scam. They drop you off at the temple, and you have to pay the entrance fee to get out to the road. Wasn't happy about it, but it was a place I wanted to visit, so it wasn't so bad.
Next, I went to get another massage, this time from Na while Brian and Bill went for a beer. Went back for dinner to the Indian place from the day before since it was yummy and easy to get vegan food.

      First full day in Bangkok

      October 22, 2022 in Thailand ⋅ ☁️ 90 °F

Went to train and bus stations trying to secure a ride to Chiang Mai. Unfortunately we had to settle for the bus since the train was completely sold out for several days.
Anna was in a lot of pain after the plane ride. Made it a difficult day but was still able to see the Royal Palace complex.
Found a little festival. Watched some kickboxing. Went back to Khao San Road for dinner. Anna and Brian got a Thai massage. Bill, not so much. We were still hungry, so we went out for dinner a second time.

      Ao Nang, 4th Day. 28th January 2023

      January 28, 2023 in Thailand ⋅ ⛅ 30 °C

It's simply amazing how lazy I can be when I really put my mind to it.
Apart from getting a few pounds changed for Thai Baht, and a spot of sunbathing, I had nothing much planned for today. Plan accomplished!
Although it's been overcast most of this morning, I went to the Ao Nang beach for a while until the fine spots of rain began earlier than usual.
The hot news folks is that I've booked my flight home.
I'll be checking out on Thursday morning 2nd February, getting a minibus from Ao Nang to Phuket Airport for the last few flights to round off this trip.
I fly from Phuket to Doha, then Doha to Rome, then Rome to Manchester.
More details to follow as things possibly change/fall completely apart.
The two shots attached will have to suffice to illustrate this morning. Hope nobody feels cheated.

      Ao Nang, Part 1. 29th January 2023

      January 29, 2023 in Thailand ⋅ ⛅ 28 °C

Hopefully, my WhatsApp message yesterday will have reached most people, but then again, it might not have. I'm setting off home soon.
If all goes as expected, I'll arrive back at Manchester Airport on 3 February, 2023, at 15:30. If I can get a train back to Northallerton in good time, I could be home for supper this Friday evening.
      Anyways...
Today was another 'steady away' day. Y'know - eat, beach, eat, a gentle stroll.
For the photos, I've concentrated on recording some of the people. Y'know, you can't take 'em with you.
In two halves again, because the site restricts my uploads to 10 pics.

      End of November Summary

      November 30, 2019 in Thailand ⋅ ☀️ 31 °C

It has been almost two months now on the road, (and 4 months since the surgery) and other than this nagging cold / crud I have been battling off and on for the past 4-5 weeks, all is well. It has certainly been an active time for me. As shown, it has been 50 days, 4 countries, 33 Hash Trails, 4 hikes, and well over 300 Kms of recovery exercise. December will be even busier, as we already have it planned out starting with a trip to South Korea, then back to Bangkok, a return to Chiang Mai, and a weekend in Pai. Next it is back to Bangkok for a week, then we'll spend Christmas in Bali. That is not the end of it, as we then fly up to Cambodia for the final weekend of the year, and on NYE, we'll be on our way to Saipan. We'll spend a week in Saipan to start off the new year, before scooting down to Guam for a few days . . . and who knows where after that. Much more planning to do, but lots of fun.Read more
