Islanddrive with the Motorbike

Janina und ich haben uns heute ein Motorbike gemietet um uns die Insel "Koh Lanta" und den dazugehörigen Nationalpark "Mu Ko Lanta" anzuschaun.
Schon auf dem Weg dahin begegnete ich einen Bindenwaran. Wir machten einen kurzen halt an einer Bucht und dachten zuerst die Aussicht von hier sei sehr gut, doch leider war dem nicht so. Ich musste unbedingt mal Wasser lösen und der Ort war grad dafür geeignet. Als ich mein "Rückziehörtchen" suchte, hörte ich es nur rascheln und sah den ca. 2 Meter grossen Bindenwaran, der schnurstracks losrannte und zu meinem Glück ins Wasser sprang. Mein Herz rutschte fast in die Hose. Ich hätte zu gern ein Foto von ihm gemacht.Read more

Nous visitons La Old town de l'île et les mangrooves ou nous croisons ces singes gigantesques.

Flew to Krabi and took a short ferry to Koh Lanta.
Crown Lanta Resort with bedroom onto swimming pool.
Very hilly resort with steep walk up to restaurants and to get to main pool. Debbie very ill and had to get golf cart to get up the hill.
We were there at off-season so beach looks horrid and full of seaweed and litter. Accommodation along the beach deserted.
The town itself not worth visiting. Overall not worth visiting again. Maybe different in peak season....Read more

Emerald cave

Nardus and Charne went on awesome day trip to Emerald cave to snorkel.
Debbie stayed home ill and weather was so bad that Carmen couldn't risk the seasickness on the choppy water.
They say one of the best days ever so that gave them a totally different view of Loh Lanta.
They saw porcupine fish - gorgeous. Swam through 80m dark tunnel that opened in a crater with a small, beautiful beach. Loved every minute. Prob the highlight of their trip.Read more

Villa in Ko Lanta

Had problems with our room and so they upgraded us to the most AWESOME villa.
Own swimming pool, kitchen, lounge, jacuzzi overlooking the ocean. Amazing!
