    Count down .....Explorers Corner on deckTogether on deck 6We braved the swell and the snow!Expectation of wildlife viewing was low!We spotted penguins on an icebergThrilled to spot Chinstrap, Adelie and Gentoo togetherGentoo on his own icebergChinstraps in the snowChinstrap & GentoosAdelie & ChinstrapTwo affectionate GentoosChinstrapNoisey Chinstrap.... probably fed up with the weather tooVery lucky to spot Chinstraps....took too many photos of themSnow subsided eventually....... but not for long...It was the trickiest transition so far back onto the shipCrew were kindly removing snow .......so the guests could continue to walk the promenadeChef made Gary 4 Apple Pies and served them with Custard!I had a special frozen yoghurt desert..... deliciousMy scrumpy masterpiece

    Change of Plan...

    December 2 in Antarctica ⋅ ❄️ -5 °C

    Started the day meeting on deck 6 to let off a weather balloon and take part in a quiz about Antarctica.
    We should have been heading to Portal Point but the weather has caught up with us. Wind, cloud and snow affected the plans and we had to head for sheltered waters. We ended up at Enterprise Bay and were able to leave the ship for an hour but it was a bit hair raising!Read more
