Day 42. Ocean Majesty, English ChannelSeptember 15, 2019, North Sea ⋅ ⛅ 18 °C
A relaxing day at sea today. Moving through the English Channel from Bremerhaven in Germany to St Peter Port in Guernsey in the Channel Islands. These island once belonged to Spain and to France but now to Britannia beholden to the Royal Family (referred to as Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles) not the English Parliament.
We went to breakfast in the restaurant at 9:15am.
At 10am we went to the information session on St Peter Port, Guernsey and Lorien, France. The tour leader’s, Peter Jurgilewitsch, presentation was very interesting and extremely informative. Fabulous slideshow ending with the music ‘Rue Britannia’ from a symphony by Henry Wood. This music is commonly used for church hymns.
We had lunch on the Lido Deck with Vera. The food is way too good.
A much needed rest in the afternoon to prepare for Happy Hour at 6pm, Welcome Cocktails at 6:30pm and the Captain’s Welcome Dinner at 7pm and the Welcome Show in the Show Lounge at 9pm.Read more
