• Exploring Dubai further

    May 19 in the United Arab Emirates ⋅ ☀️ 88 °F

Today we further explored Dubai, checking out the museum of the future, Palm Jumeirah, and the Dubai Marina,

We started our day with an Arabic breakfast near the museum of the future, and then headed in with the passes we’d bought yesterday. The museum had AMAZING architecture. Sadly the exhibits weren’t super engaging, so we rolled through pretty quickly. Although the exhibits were bland, we did like going on the roof and seeing views of the city!

Following the museum, we headed to the palm jumeirah, which is an entirely manmade island in the shape of a palm tree. This island DOUBLED Dubais waterfront, allowing them to sell a ton of beachfront property that didn’t exist previously. It was really interesting learning about the land reclamation process used to accomplish this at the Palm Tower. This tower has the best views of the area, and we went to the top for a panoramic viewpoint.

After enjoying views of the palm, we headed to the Dubai marina for dinner and to explore this district. This area was teeming with yachts, and the skyline was super impressive. We grabbed an Arabic dinner here, and really enjoyed the food.

To end our night we did one of our most exciting excursions yet- skiing in the desert!! We went to mall of the emirates where Dubai built an entirely indoor ski resort with a lift, two runs, and even a terrain park. We had a blast getting a number of runs in, and it was so fun having our only ski outing this year occur as part of our Middle East adventure!!
