Na een zeer voorspoedige reis zitten we al vlot in de bus richting het centrum, koffers weggebracht en weer terug de stad in.
De eerste hotspots al snel gezien; zoals Edinburgh Castle, Scott Monument, St. Giles Cathedral - waar vlakbij een groot beeld staat van David Hume (Schotse filosoof) waar je over de voet kan wrijven🙄 -, de Royal Mile en...ja hoor de 1e doedelzakspeler gespot!Read more

Mit etwas Verspätung sind wir endlich in Edinburgh angekommen. Bei der Ausspache müssen wir noch etwas üben wie auch beim Verstehen der Schotten. Ein bisschen Training hatten wir aber schon bei unserem ersten Pubbesuch mit Patrick. Einem netteren älteren Herr, welcher sich ausgesprochen gut mit dem heimischen Alkohol auskennt. Tamara oder besser gesagt Tomorrow versteht man nicht, da sie einen italienischen Akzent hat während Sven mit seinem englischen Akzent und seinen Kentnissen in Bsöffnisch gut zurecht kam. Day 2
Exploring the City

Arriving and at our hotel reception before 12:00, we were right on time. Starting to get a little hungry, we dropped off our bags with the lovely Scottish lady, and headed into beautiful Scotland for some lunch and much needed exploring.

I had pasta and a chai latte for lunch in a cute little cafe not far from reception. After finishing our meals, we headed to the first place on our list, the castle. Though impressive from the outside, it was a bit of a let down on the inside. We did get to watch the 1:00 canon which was quite thrilling. Quite a few museums that didn't quite interest Dad and a couple really old buildings that were rather fascinating.

After the castle, we walked through town admiring the pretty buildings and cobblestone streets, just wandering. We walked back to reception after a hot choc and grabbed our bags, ready for a final walk of the day to our beautiful apartment.Read more
