    Went out onto the terrace before breakfast to see what the sunrise light was doing on the castle and took a few shots. Now we are on the way to Cardiff. Stopped for snack at Machynlleth. (David pronounced it: Mak-ull-neth. The spelling looks as though it should be pronounced Makinleth). Through Carno, Clatter, Caerws, and Llangurig. Stopped for lunch at Brecon. I had time to take pictures.Read more

    Mad in Machy

    The day's ride ended in former Welsh capital Machynlleth. I can't pronounce it, so was pleased to find that locals call it Machy.

    Home of the Welsh museum of modern art 'MOMA' (closed when I was in town), Machy had a very different vibe to Buith.

    I wanted an Indian but now nervous of rats opted for a safer pizza.Read more
